Cirigliano?

ive been a river plate fan all my life, played in the youth team for a year (at a very low level mind you) and have been a city fan for about 6 years now....so to see this possibly happen, would be incredible for me.

Cirigliano plays nothing like mascherano, i guess he does play in the middle of midfield, and is an excellent tackler, but offers much more in my opinion.

ok now, if i HAD to compare him to anyone, it would be Ever Banega of Valencia. His vision is what sets him apart from the mascherano comparisons, along with his ability to make marauding runs much like our own Yaya. He also is quite good at "spraying" the ball, like David Pizarro did occasionally on his loan spell last half of the season. He already has the qualities that Mancini thrives on molding (good with possesion, strong, and able to defend and hold) and i believe, he will be a big part of Argentinas national team once he moves to europe. Once again Mancini is probably the best coach for his development, as would Mourinho and guardiola, all three make their center mids the life of the team, and the glue that holds play together.

he is only 20, and does have italian grandparents, i know this for a fact, so an EU passport would be no biggie.

Lastly.... Yes River was in the second division of ARgentine football last season, but it is a much grittier game than the first division (which, although most don't believe, is actually making a comeback in quality). Almeyda (rivers coach) will most likely not let him leave unless for a good amount of cash, because he is a starter, and one of 6 or 7 young talents that will make it HUGE in a good european league.

Snap him up now before he costs 25 mil!

If I was in charge, I will appoint you as City scout in Argentina.


I am gutted that Argentina are not playing in the Olympics this summer, their team usually wins the golden medal and produce the NEXT big things ( Messi, Tevez , Aguero, Di Maria ....etc)
 
would love that! There are a shit ton of great players in the making....barcelona already snapped up Sergio Araujo, the true heir to aguero, not that Dybala kid that signed from palermo (he's more like lisandro lopez) haha anyway....

There's a lot of talk from Argentina about this guy leaving River Plate, with us (along with Udinese and Napoli) supposedly in negotiations with River's President for him. A €15m fee has been mentioned too.

I am not sure the Udinese or Napoli are willing to pay this amount for young & unproven Defensive Midfielder.


Remember, City sold the NDJ for 3 Millions Only.
 
Ocampos already made his big money move to Monaco.

Young well scouted players have to be the future of our transfer style with the occasional big money buy thrown in, the new rules just won't let us to splash out £25million here, £28million there anymore. Nor should we have to, the whole point of a well paid and extensive scouting network is to avoid that. Nastasic cost £12million + Savic when the club pondered a £20million+ move for Agger - the better long-term deal for us...? Nastastic.
 
I agree with LoveCity. We have to try something like Dortmund, Juve - game system > "well-known" players.
 
Nastasic deal wasn't cheap at all, 12 Million + Savic (7m), which mean he cost the club 19 Million Pound.

And we could have saved a lot money from buying him instead of Savic from FK Partizan. I thought we should have gone for Verratti but thought 19m for a 19 year old was too much.

Haha don't be silly, the deal was 12m in total 8.2 + Savic Valued at 3.8m.

Could look at it that way but we would never have got the fee we paid for him after the year he had with us. We did well to get 3.8 for him although I think he will become a good player playing in Italy.
 
Rumours that the River Plate chief is coming over to start negotiations.
Difficult to judge from YouTube but he is very highly rated and we have a good track record with Argentinians!

Would spell the end for at least two mid fielders surely? Barry and Milner?
