Citizen Card

I'm turning 18 at the end of this month and obviously I would like to enjoy all of the benefits that come along with this i.e. Being allowed into bars etc. Came across this alternative from getting a Provisional License (£50 is a bit steep on my budget and I have no plans on driving any time soon) which is known as the 'Citizen Card'. They've been going since 1999 and have a PASS/UV hologram on them so should be accepted in all bars/places that sell alcohol.

CitizenCard is the leading proof of age scheme...or so they claim but do these cards actually work in getting into bars? The reason why I'm asking is that it just seems to be pure pot luck if anyone gets into a club/bar after doing some thorough internet research and I don't fancy wasting £15 to be perfectly honest. Thanks in advance...

(I'm planning on ringing some of the clubs tomorrow to make sure, but I would like to know if anyone else has been successful or know somebody who has been successful using this on a regular basis.)

Can be a bit of a woman using a citizen card. I have no plans of driving but still brought a provisional driving license just for the fact that it makes it a lot easier on nights out.

You'll probably spend not short of £50 on a night out, so why not just go for the Provisional?
