City’s New Kits

Mine is purely and simply cost. I have just ordered 3 kids full kits (inc. socks) and 2 adult shirts for virtually the same price as 1 official adults shirt.

Couldn't afford it otherwise
Kids I get mate, why should they suffer and I'm not taking any moral high ground about fake goods. I just find it weird when my mates are happy to spend £130 on a pair of trainers or £100 on a sweatshirt, all of which goes to the manufacturer, but then won't buy a city shirt when a chunk of that money goes to the club they love so much to help balance the books.

In the interests of debate and not criticising anyone (as I understand times are hard for many), but..

I don't get the concept of buying fake shirts from China that the club make no money from at all. I guess if people go to the games or pay TV subscriptions that benefit the club then it doesnt matter so much, but I know loads of people that buy fake shirts (for themselves not their kids), don't go to games and watch all games on internet streams (but they do wear real designer gear and top end trainers etc.) Then these same people complain when the club doesn't buy the player they want or put up season ticket prices. At the end of the day (and we know best as blues), clubs have to balance the books for UEFA/PL rules, so to expect the club to be the best and sign the best and yet put no money into the club as a fan doesn't seem fair.

Like I said, I'm not criticising people, just interested to see what people's opinions are on it
They’re a rip off, that’s why.

But that really wasn't what I was querying. I'm not saying that everyone should buy a shirt, I know they are expensive (but so are pretty much all branded clothes). My point was probably more around what constitutes a fan/supporter, can someone be classed as one if they literally spend no money on anything that benefits the club and never go to a game? I'm not saying that's my view btw

I spent well over £2k supporting City last season, so I’m well entitled to buy a fake City shirt. Like you said though, people who never go to games and claim to support City yet still buy fake shirts are the ultimate armchair fan.

Shirt sales make money for Puma, and I imagine very little for City. So I doubt there will be much impact on balancing the books either way if that makes any difference to the thought process.

I'll have a new shirt for 15 quid this coming season, off this dhgate - Just a plain shirt though,no name on back, can't seem to find them.

Anyone help

Why does the price of a season ticket affect these people?

I buy other clubs and country shirts from DHGate that I use to play 5 a side. Generally stuff I can't get in the UK.

With City I buy my shirts from them or from Puma directly but only on sale. I have the green GK, home and away from last season and paid 49, 31 and 31 respectively.

That being said, I have no kids and don't intend on it either. I get if you're a parent wanting your kids to have the latest shirt but that can rack up a huge cost in the meantime. So it's a much cheaper alternative and unless you buy a bad fake, kids aren't gonna know.

Also, important note with shirts, the people who make the real money are Puma, not City. Common misconception about replica shirt sales. City get a small licensing percentage.

Bought one for 32 quid. Not DH gate. I have seen City fakes in Turkey over the years and you can tell. This thing looks like it is real. Even has the king colin in the neck. If it is fake no one could tell.
