After reading the YaYa 5 aside article it got me thinking about this topic.

Not sure if done before but who would your City 7 aside be for a 45 minute each way match with no subs?
I had Dune and Tarnat at right back (even though neither play right back) but switched to SWP.
Wanted to put Horlock in midfield but thought the energy of Tevez and Guile of Silva was difficult to beat!

Given may have been better choice at keeper but kept Hart as he has the better shot and would be key if any games went to penalties. I would certainly be interested to hear thoughts from any older blues on this.

WTF!

So much wrong with that.

Kolarov out and Terry Phelan in is the first thing I'd do.

Pitch dimensions are tight small pitch and ball not allowed over head height.
Had Kolarov in for his shooting and SWP for his energy

What's your 7 then?

...................Aguero...............
............Silva.........................
....................Fernandinho.......
...Kolarov......................Zaba...
.................Kompany...............
...................Hart...................

Fernandinho's all-round game, plus his energy, would be amazing in 7 a side. Can't pick Yaya, due to his lack of stamina.

I know this would never happen, but I would LOVE for 5 a side footy between the Premier League teams to be a real thing. A different form of football, for even more excitement, keeping the sport fresh etc. Think of it like the way Twenty20 cricket offers a quicker form of the sport. Could you imagine watching Silva, Aguero, Yaya etc in a 5 a side game? I think fans would go nuts for it. I know it's impossible, but holy fuck I wish it wasn't.

Hart

Demichelis
Kolarov

Silva
Fernandinho
Sterling

Aguero

Two at the back, all out attack. MDm in defence for his nous, his pace wouldn't be shown up on a smaller pitch.

Not a pipe dream to have a 5 a side competition.Back in the late sixties there was one organised by the Daily Mail or Express which was televised and was won in 69 I think by gods own team!!

There used to be a six a side tournament at the G-Mex in the late 1980's. I saw City there a couple of times. I remember Ian Brightwell having some good games.
