Both clubs are known to be keen to boost their attacking options and the former River Plate hitman fits the bill.

He faces competition for his place at the Bernabeu from the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema and the exit door appears to be looming.

At least, that is in the opinion of former Real general manager Jorge Valdano, who is quoted by Tribal Football as telling Cadena SER that he believes the Spanish giants may be pushing Higuain out.

Valdano said he believes the Argentine could walk away at the end of the season. 'Higuain is an outstanding striker and goalscorer [but] you cannot permanently doubt him because the player may end up getting tired [of it],' he explained.

Both City and Chelsea have registered an interest in the striker previously, although they were rebuffed by Real boss Jose Mourinho.

However, if Valdano is to be believed, a deal could be on the cards if they return this summer. Chelsea, in particular, are looking to boost a strike-force that includes misfiring Fernando Torres and the aging Didier Drogba.

Apologies if posted elsewhere, but is this gathering a bit of momentum now?
Seems like a deal worth looking seriously at if its possible, especially with the Argentine link up potential we'd have up front with Augero

It's hard to tell, we're linked with Van Persie, Higuain, Cavani, van Wolfswinkel, and Llorente at the moment so who really knows what is true! I expect Soldado, Gomez, and Ibra (again) to be linked with us soon.

By the way Higuain had the best goalscoring efficiency rate in Europe at the end of January. Probably changed now but he was averaging a goal every 65 minutes. Ronaldo was 2nd, Messi 3rd, Gomez 4th, Aguero 5th. Mourinho favours Benzema more but for me Higuain is better.

I reckon Tevez fucks off this summer, so your front three dream team is just that.

Nah, you've misread me - was thinking of Higuain and Augero up front with Zabba in the hole ;)

He's the fan favourite, I don't think Madrid will sell.

It's crazy to think their president(?) doesn't rate him or think he is world class. I do.

-- Tue Mar 20, 2012 3:03 pm --

Benzema is better mate.

I completely disagree and think Higuain is an amazingly clinical forward. Benzema is stronger and more powerful but isn't nearly as clinical as those effiency stats showed (Benzema didn't even rank top 10). Higuain is 3rd top scorer behind the usual two in La Liga.

My only doubt in signing Higuain is his back which he had serious problems with last season, whether the problems could return.

Hope this is true, the guy is a goal machine. Higuain, Martinez, a world class winger. Job done :)

Dzeko quit fear. EDIN DZEKO is considering quitting Manchester City in the summer.

The Bosnia striker has not requested a transfer but Etihad bosses are aware of his unhappiness over his lack of first-team opportunities.

And now Dzeko, 26, could be set for a swap deal with Real Madrid's Argy striker Gonzalo Higuain as boss Jose Mourinho is a long-term admirer.

Higuain, 24, is in his sixth season at the Bernabeu and has hinted he will be looking to leave.

City boss Roberto Mancini is keen to partner him with his Argentina team-mate Sergio Aguero.

Dzeko's people have alerted Europe's top clubs about his availability, including Bayern Munich, who were not interested.

He joined City for £27million from Wolfsburg in January 2011 and has 13 league goals, despite starting just 14 games.

Ha!

I did misread you. You had the front three for the national team, where Tevez is shit.

LOL, only messing. I agree on Tevez, not even thinking about him really.
But the pairing of the two of them (GH & SA) up front would be a great asset for us I think. I have always thought Mourinho had a good eye for a player, but much as i like Dzeko, I honestly think we'd be getting the better deal out of this if Madrid allowed it.

Higuain is a finisher, but Benzema is the complete striker. Just being able to score by virtue of Madrid's world-class service doesn't make you a better player.

It's a bit like comparing Hernandez to Tevez. One is a finisher, the other is a complete striker. Can you guess which is which?

I'd do that swap no problem. Higuain is more suited to our style of football.

I'd snap their hand off for a swap and everyone's happy

This is a dream, I seriously doubt Madrid want Dzeko. Does Higuain even want to leave Madrid?

Mourinho might turn Dzeko around with his motivational shit.

if tevez returns dzeko should leave for his best... To be Nr 4 striker is not god for any striker in any club!

Mancini does not want to play him and he should leave to Newcastle, Arsenal or some other club.

Peace

He'd most likely be brilliant for Real Madrid, banging in goals for fun.
