hi all

was having a look at old city / football memorabilia over the last few weeks and found loads of interesting stuff.

my first programme of my first match (v nufc 1977), champs league final ticket from old trafford 2003, silk city scarf circa 1970's, various ticket stubbs from all over the country and abroad ( grocklyn, hamburg friendly with kk and others) 1981 cup final and replay tickets, autographed ball given to me by sun ji hi and....loads more

will sort some piccys out this week when i get a minute for those old gits who like this kind of thing.

now i know there is 76,000 york away ticket stubbs out there but what have you got blues to interest the geeks like me out there.

81 final t.shirt and bowler hat. Handforth supporters branch wall plaque and giant CITY crest all woven, both used to be in the old supporters club at Maine Road. Follow your HART go CITY silk scarf, from when Johnny Hart was manager. Plus loads of other stuff in the loft.

I have collected a bit over the years but I have to keep them in my shed as the wife wont let me put them on display in the house. These were all framed by me so not professional. I have:

1956 FA Cup Final Programme with Community Singing Sheet, Ticket stub and a signed Bert Trautman photo.

1967 "Ballet On Ice" Programme. This was the fist City Match in my lifetime. I was 1 day old. (No. I did not attend the game).

1969 FA Cup Final Programme, Ticket stub, Rosette and a unsigned photo of Tony Book with a signed Tony book card.

1970 League Cup Final programme, Ticket stub, Rosette with a unsigned photo of Tony Book.

1970 European Cup Winners Cup Cigarette Card collection with a Man City and Gornik Zabrze Pennents. A signed Neil Young card and replica programme (Couldn't afford to buy original although I believe that they were given free at game)

1976 League Cup Final shirt signed by Denis Tueart with Programme, Ticket stub, Rosette and 1st day postal cover.

1999 Div 2 Playoff Final Programme, Ticket sub and signed Nicky Weaver photo.

2002/03 Last Derby Programme at Maine Road plus a Signed Shaun Goater photo, 1st Derby at Eastlands.

2003 last programme form Maine Road against Southampton plus Ticket stub signed by Kevin Keegan, 1st prprograme from Eastlands against Barcelona.

2003 My Original Seat from Maine Road

2011 FA Cup Final Shirt (unsigned), Programme, Ticket stub and Pennent.

I have other small items like Pennents, Rosette and Pin Badges.

My most treasured city item is the stub from the playoff final at wembley. Its been in my wallet for 13ys, and has seen lots of action the last couple of years when people start throwing the glory hunter line at you. They have no comeback from that.

The house is now bulging with stuff I've collected for over 40 years and that now includes some of the grass from the pitch from the QPR game. here is just some of the stuff that I treasure

Does one of these threads get made once a month?

Here's the 11 page thread on this very subject from as far far back as 4 weeks ago in April! ;)

And my post from it (though i forgot to mention my Maine Road seat duh!)

Too much to mention, but i'll skim some from memory -
over a hundred handwritten letters from players and signed photos from the mid 80s to mid 90s (used to write to players a lot as a kid), all home progs since the mid 80s, all city mags since issue 1, some stuff passed from my family like an orig 56 cup final pennant thingy + a 68 championship one and the 69 final one + a pot/plastic 25 cm city man figure from the 60s (hard to describe!) + a ton of newspaper specials inc 1934 fa cup win and the 56 win and lots of late 60s ones. More of my stuff is i kept scrapbooks as a kid so a ton of cuttings form then, despite being away on holiday for the auction (cries) i have a lot of maine road (8 main stand bricks, 2 platt lane bricks, 2 north stand bricks, a turnstile plate from 1923, a perimeter pitch side gate, one of the 3 round windows from the side of the main stand near the ticket office (got some funny looks carrying that home on the bus!), some of the original pieces of the mosaics (i was there the day then bloke removed it and he gave me about 5 pieces), the massive cardboard pics of the ground that used to be in the entrance to the shop (6 months after city left, i spotted them on the floor in the shop when the coucnil team were in, one was ripped in half but the other 3 were fine, they let me have them!), 3 original 1923 window cubes from the main stand, a K2 sign from the kippax, a closed signed from a turnstile, and a brick from the perimiter kippax wall. I have more i think, but can't remember - none were bought in the auction, i went to watch demolition a hell of a lot and the gate man was friendly and let me have bits. (well, K2 vanished the match before the last match at maine road, thanks to my mum taking a screwdriver and having the guts to do it!)
I have a lot of city shirts obviously, and a lot of signed stuff, inc 5 signed shirts from the last 8 years, and a ton of books, dvds, and all the usual kind of stuff. Also i have my own collection of photos of maine road and city that i've taken the last 20 years - those mean a lot to me! And my 20 years of season ticket books and cards! (pay on the gate kippax before then so no stubs, a pity!)
And lots more, like my childhood city lamp and 80s bedspread! I used to have a "peter barnes football trainer" in the early 80s but my sister cut the elastic back then to be a woman (before it took anyones eye out i guess though!), Panini sticker albums with a completed city page (1986!), i was the only girl at school to be into football and used to get slagged off contantly by the boys so had no one to swap with (cries again!) but still managed the full page ;)

signed 1976 League Cup Final scarf. Wagged school the day before the final and went to Maine Road. As I arrived, the team bus turned up. I also worked with Pele, and got him to sign a City shirt. Pride of place on my office wall!
