City bus scheme for home games - bus tracking (P91)

Macc double decker bus seemed full yesterday. Saturday afternoon roads v busy but got there in about 1.5 hours. Return journey really quick - in house by 6.40. Couldn’t have matched that if I’d driven (factoring in the walk to car)

Used the one from Leigh yesterday for the first time , got on at wardley , bus was on time and left on time after the match.
£8 seemed a little steep but on reflection it’d be 4 buses there and back without it.
Saved the mither of driving, parking and walking to ground with a little ‘un
Great idea and would use again

#15 has added another stop now beginning for Southampton game now starts at Castleton train station before heading to Middleton

My lad and his mate managed to squeeze on the no10 bus back to Sale but only because they had bought a return ticket on the way out. Otherwise they wouldn't have been let on he said as it was packed.

Chocker, loads standing. I think it was only that busy due to the trams only going to Old Trafford. I was sat next to a bloke on the way back that caught the tram and replacement bus there but sacked it off and got the match bus back as it was a nightmare going.

Frustrating that the one that starts in Radcliffe doesn’t stop in Whitefield or Prestwich…
It starts in Ramsbottom now. The problem with that one for me is the pricing. £8 is great from Rammy but it’s the same price from Radcliffe which, considering the tram is £4.70 rtn and can be caught from the same place, isn’t attractive. Technically, you’re paying £3.30 extra to go door to door because the tram network is set up for other parts of the region to get direct services after they removed the previous door to door service we had. If it was £5 I would use it but seemingly it’s not that popular, probably due to the above. I reckon Whitefield and Prestwich would be similar especially as they have better existing bus services to Manchester which are cheaper. Actually, Rammy has better bus services to Manchester than Radcliffe.

Trouble is mate there’s that many old fuckers getting in the bus for free they’ve probably worked out we have to supplement them and the kids!

Hi everyone, with the international break we've had time to consider feedback from the early part of the season and are planning the following changes for the Southampton game [on Saturday 26 October], and subsequent fixtures.

Full details of these changes (such as the new routes, timetables etc) will be added to the website next week.

Match Day Bus 5 changes
  • Re-route the service to avoid Mancunian Way and now route Moss Lane East and Oxford Road. We hope that this will avoid the delays you’ve seen on the service and improve reliability.
  • Move the pick-up and drop-off point for Etihad Campus to Ashton New Road
  • At the start of the season, we merged MC11 and MC12, renumbering it to MC5. Previously, MC11 used Ashton New Road as the pick-up/drop-off point and we have listened to feedback from supporters who asked for the MC5 to instead use Ashton New Road.
  • We will still use Connell College as the pick-up and drop-off point for the Sparta Praha game.

Match Day Bus 10 changes
  • Supporters have asked for a stop in Sale. To ensure there is no negative impact to the existing service and journey times, the new stop in Sale will be on the current route.
  • Pre-match the Sale stop will be on Ashton Lane next to the old Sale Magistrates Courts.
  • Post-match the Sale stop will be on Hayfield Road near Tesco.
  • This is an additional stop and will not affect any of the pre-existing pick-up points.

Match Day Bus 12 changes
  • Following feedback from supporters, we have altered the route between Bury and Ramsbottom. The bus will travel via Walmsley Road and not on the M66.
  • We have also re-timed journeys.

Match Day Bus 14 changes
  • Following the bus trial last season we received feedback from supporters to move the pick-up closer to the stadium and asking for a stop in Newton Heath.
  • Due to the post-match traffic management, the bus does have to do an elaborate route to Newton Heath, which is impacting journey times. Therefore, we are moving the Newton Heath stop to Oldham Road.
Pre-match the pick-up will be Oldham Road Stop C (Dean Lane).
Post-match the drop off will be on Oldham Rd, stop D (Dean Lane).
  • We have also had a request to move the stop in Moston, from St Mary’s Road, Broadhurst Park, to Lightbowne Road, Gardeners Arms. We would like to hear your feedback on this proposal whilst we continue to analyse the data. Feedback to us by email below.

Match Day Bus 15 changes
  • Following supporter feedback, we will be introducing a new stopping point in Castleton.
  • The pick-up and drop-off stop will be on Manchester Road, near Pemberton Street.
  • The Castleton stop will be in Zone 2.
We encourage supporters to provide feedback on these changes or anything else you would like to see to matchdaybus@tfgm.com

Excellent news that you guys are listening and been sensible with it, nothing but praise for the service from me. Although a price reduction would be the icing on the cake ;)
