So you think the queuing is primarily to take food off people not for safety?
Taking food away from kids is wrong; guess I've been lucky not to be affected so far, but agree that's disgusting!
The food inside is terrible, so tend to eat before or after, kids should be allowed to bring in snacks, perhaps not bottles of juice or cans though?

Fair play I often also sneak goodies into Cineworld but I wouldn't expect to be able to sneak bottles of booze into the MEN or a festival
I no longer sneak booze into the Etihad following UEFA’s decision to treat us like customers rather than fodder, and why would I sneak booze into the MEN, there’s plenty of bars?

However much people complain about City’s prices they are resonable compared to the rip off charges at the cinema.

My father in law complained to his bank that their phone app wouldn't work on his phone. They advised he get an up to date phone, he told them he will get an up to date bank. Ditched them after a lifetime, complained, wrote to nthem, customer support groups etc. Then dealing with DDs that suddenly changhed, bank details needed changing everywhere. He feels happy, and wont admit it's a problem.

I think sometimes it's just good to bend a little to save yourself the hassle. Not too much obviously :)

You should tell your father-in-law to try First Direct online banking. It sounds counter intuitive to suggest online banking, under the circumstances, but it's effectively telephone banking. They do have an app but you don't need to use it, you just dial their number (you can even use an old bakealite phone if you want - nothing modern required!).
You get an answer in seconds, go through security in seconds, because they use voice recognition for security so no complicated daft passcodes to remember, and their staff are well trained and lovely to deal with.
He'd love it.

That may be so, but this year something changed.

My wife and I have been season ticket holders for years, every year we try to move if we can to get a better view closer to the centre line, closer to the pitch, that sort of thing. We've moved four times over the years, but most years we've stayed put as there have been very few options opening up for a better view. This year when we looked there were a lot more seats available and I mean a lot, so we snagged two seats with a much better sight line.

Anecdotal evidence for sure, but something is up if suddenly there were a lot more seats available for relocation, and good seats as well.
I’m sat next to Jacob rees mogg and his elderly relatives so I was desperate to relocate but I forgot when the deadline was. I need to sort my shit out.

I must be incredibly lucky, or you go to the wrong places, but I have never been denied access to either the theatre or the cinema with my own food/drink.
Yeah could be just a difference between the UK and and US, but I can barely even think of an example where it's ok to bring food/drink into a venue that serves food or drink.

Hadn’t realised you were in the US.
Explains it all really, there is a difference here although, sadly, we’re moving closer to your version.
