City charged by FA for failing to control players against Spurs

Haaland was overflowing with adrenaline, he had missed a couple of decent chances during the game. He probably felt that he was responsible for it not being a comfortable win and needed to make a positive contribution.

He was fouled but knowing a free kick in his own half would not be beneficial to grabbing a victory he got straight up and struck a perfect pass which left Grealish clean through on goal. If you watch it again, both Haaland and Kovacic are sprinting upfield in support of Grealish, everybody on that pitch and everybody watching knew that was a game winning opportunity only for Hooper to do the inexplicable and blow his whistle.

No wonder Haaland and the rest of the team surrounded Hooper, he was lucky he wasn’t decked. I think in light of the refereeing our boys were remarkably restrained.

How can Hooper's action be labelled incompetence? He waved play on as he thought City had an advantage because Haaland was facing away from the Spurs goal. When he realised that Jack was bearing down on goal with only the goalie in front of him the advantage suddenly ended - that has to be corruption.
Or, he was worried that he wouldn’t be in shot when the goal went in. No way was the portly guy getting anywhere near the goal.

Minimum one would expect. Haaland is lucky, both for the on field activities and his post-match X “wtf” comment, which he has tried to minimize with his “The Scream” comment.

Sadly, much of the game takes place in the media, in real time, to “tell” the authorities what they’re supposed to do. It’s one of the many reasons why the Red Old Guard talk so much smack about City in the media and in their punditry! They set the media agenda for the week!

As always, the completely correct decision to charge us, but a quick search through the back catalogue will no doubt reveal loads of other examples of clubs not being charged for the same thing in response to far less egregious decisions.

I think that’s the perfect statement the club should make. Maybe add that we will admit the charge, take the punishment so that we learn & become better. However, in the interests of fairness privately we will provide examples of other clubs…….

The only thing wrong was the number of players who approached the ref, ultimately they were restrained in their anger considering what an abomination of a decision the official had just instigated A decision that could have cost City the win, surely this was just human error on behalf of the players? Failing to count the numbers that want to point out to him that he’s a **** of the highest order and that he had officiated in an unfair and inadequate way. I would in fact like to congratulate them. WTF?

I can't believe he got away with it tbh. I expected a 3 or 4 match ban at least!
For what? Posting a video and using an acronym He could easily explain that he was commenting about his own actions in recovering and make a KDB like pass There is no way they could charge him It was very clever and well thought out

Reminds me when Adebayor ran back to his own half after scoring without leaving the pitch yet they wanted to throw the book at him.
