City Dreadful XI

My apologies to Mike Walsh and Ken McNaught, you were both inept enough for this roll of honour, but unfortunately(more like fortunately) you didn't make enough appearances.
Walsh made 4 and McNaught 7,my memory must be playing tricks as I remember them being ever present in my nightmares and the bloke who used to stand behind us on the Kippax screaming at Walsh, haunts me to this day.
Viljoen or Cunningham it is then, the former must have had a boot contract with Hunter wellies, whilst poor old Tony couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo(his scoring record was absolutely dreadful, but clubs kept signing him).

Margetson

Frontzeck
Beesley
Jobson
D Brightwell

N Summerbee
McManaman
Clough
Buster Phillips

Jo
Bob Taylor

Barry Fucking Silkman is the worst player I have ever seen wear the shirt.
Distribution like a postman on LSD, all the pace of a snail on valium, the vision of David Blunkett and milk could turn quicker.
The only City player who I have ever seen and thought, with all honesty, 'I could fucking do better than that ****'.

To be fair to most of the players mentioned they cost next to fuck all.

Now the challenge is choose one on a worst value for money either fee or wages basis based on transfer values at the time we bought them.

Ill have a go.

Isaksson
Mills
Bridge
Kernaghan
Savic
Mcmanaman
Daley
Michael Robinson
Scott Sinclair
Lee Bradbury
Vuoso

Subs...., Jo, Samaras, Corradi, Weah, Negououi, Jovetic, Rodwell.

Jovetic has been injured. The lad is absolute class and if he is able to get a decent run in the team and stay injury free then he will more than prove his worth.

Rodwell similar to Jovetic, although possibly shouldn't have taken the risk on him with his history of injuries.

Agree with most of the others you have mentioned.

They were selected purely on a worst value for money basis as we have had no value for either of them. That may change and if so they will be off the list!

I also missed Santa Cruz of course.

Didi Hamann??? Are you sure he was absolute quality for us

he played a huge part in our winning the munich anniversary derby at OT. I will forever salute him on the strength of that game alone.

If you extended this thread to , fit to wear the shirt , you would have a 20 team premier league.
What pees me off is most of this dross will be boasting in around ten years time that they used to play for the best team in the world Man City !!

Gelson Fernandez was pretty dismal come to think of it. I think he made a forward pass once though, so the jury's out for me.

Surely you can't be referring to Kenny Clements! a very decent full back with a league cup winners medal and part of that great 1976-1977 team that finished runners up to a Liverpool.

You can't dis' Weah. I once saw him kick Gary Neville into row 3 of the stand. He was on his way to the tunnel expecting a red card but only got a ticking off

I remember a sticker of groenendijk in an old sticker album . Prob from the mid 90s . It used to have us in stitches when kids .

Didn't David Sommeil score our first ever league goal at the Etihad as well in that 1-1 vs Pompey?

What's your worse City XI you can come up with?

Rules are they have to have played 10 games + (otherwise too easy) and they have to be players you've seen in your life time!

Here's mine:

David Seaman

Stephen Jordan
Michael Frontzeck (after having an amazing debut it transpired he was really shit)
Alan Kernagan
Laurent Charvet

Buster Phillips
Nigel Clough
Ged Brannan (although he scored a worldy against Forest)
Craig Russell

Robert Taylor
Lee Bradbury

Gareth Taylor

not really a thread I'd usually participate in, but you'd have to have SWP in nets for sure
