City Dreadful XI

Isaksson

Mills (it was close between him and Sun but Sun gave everything tbf to him)
Tal Ben-Haim
Savic
Thatcher

McMannaman
Garcia
Dabo (was considering Sibierski but he wasn't as bad as Dabo luckily for him)
Musampa (feel harsh with this one, loved his impact the 1st season on loan but the 2nd he was pretty disappointing for me)

Macken
Samaras

Barry Fucking Silkman is the worst player I have ever seen wear the shirt.
Distribution like a postman on LSD, all the pace of a snail on valium, the vision of David Blunkett and milk could turn quicker.
The only City player who I have ever seen and thought, with all honesty, 'I could fucking do better than that ****'.

I met Silkman a few years ago in his 'agent' capacity - he was after representing my mate's son... Never heard so much bullshit spouted in the name of promotion. Total arsewipe - his eyes were all around the room, looking for someone 'more important' to talk bollocks to.

And yes nij, I can confirm that he left a silvery trail behind him when he slithered around the room.

I browsed through this thread and realised that at the time I rated many of these players.

Immel did well for us as did Clough, Jim Whitley, Michael Ball, Ben Haim, Taylor, etc for their respective periods.

This is essentially a "name an obscure City player" thread for many of its contributors. Apparently Gareth Taylor wasn't a forward who helped us to two successive league promotions, he was one of the worst players in City's history because some people vaguely remember him and he isn't a big name.

How quickly some of you people forget

-- Sat Jan 11, 2014 11:50 pm --

Gareth Taylor gave a good interview on the Bluemoon podcast this month, he's now one of our Academy coaches

Brennan scored those two pens for us against Palace in 91 that were the worst examples of diving ever by White and somebody else that my memory forgets

To be fair to most of the players mentioned they cost next to fuck all.

Now the challenge is choose one on a worst value for money either fee or wages basis based on transfer values at the time we bought them.

Ill have a go.

Isaksson
Mills
Bridge
Kernaghan
Savic
Mcmanaman
Daley
Michael Robinson
Scott Sinclair
Lee Bradbury
Vuoso

Subs...., Jo, Samaras, Corradi, Weah, Negououi, Jovetic, Rodwell.
Woah woah... what?

Both of these players have tons of quality but are just injury prone. They probably have more ability than half the players that you would consider legends. Jovetic has only just joined the club FFS, you might as well put Boateng or someone random like that.

And if you want to plop for players who where always injured, why would you go for these two over Bojinov, Santa Cruz or Michael Johnson?

Savic? Really?

Yes really. He cost a lot of money, was absolute shit and is no longer here so doesn't that answer that one?

3-5-2

Seaman

edgehill
Charvet
Ben Haim

Mcmanaman
Clough
Holden
Pollock
N Summerbee

Samaras
Jo

Neil McNab, Nigel Clough and Lee Bradbury would be amongst the first names on my team sheet but for captain I would probably have to plump for Eddie McGoldrick

The shittest thing about Creany was that we paid cash (750k I think) plus Paul Walsh who was 10x the player Creamy was Grrrr[/quote]

Honestly, can anyone seriously explain the logic of this deal?

I was only 10/11 at the time but if I recall Walsh did well for us, was liked by the fans and formed a decent partnership with Uwe/Quinn/Beagrie.

Was he unhappy at City or something? Still bugs me that this deal happened.

Fenton-------------Beesley--------Richie---------Garrido----

McPointaman---Negouai--------Jim Whitley------Samaras--

---------------------BWP-------Kavelashvili--------------------

We played Samaras on the left so I'm counting him there as that's where he was at his worst. Garrido over Jordan for me because Garrido's performance in the 6-0 against Chelsea was the single worst performance from any professional football that I've ever seen.
