City Dreadful XI

Don't know how many times his name has been mentioned on the thread as a whole, but I've seen it on this page, and I know it's all about opinions, but I don't think Edgehill deserves to be on a City Dreadful 11.

Now that fucking eejit Jamie Pollock should be on everyone's worst 11.....

Woah woah... what?

Both of these players have tons of quality but are just injury prone. They probably have more ability than half the players that you would consider legends. Jovetic has only just joined the club FFS, you might as well put Boateng or someone random like that.

And if you want to plop for players who where always injured, why would you go for these two over Bojinov, Santa Cruz or Michael Johnson?

Savic? Really?

Yes really. He cost a lot of money, was absolute shit and is no longer here so doesn't that answer that one?
tbf I agree on Savic, he was awful.

re Creaney and the Walsh deal - I assume we did this becausen age had caught up on Walshie. I saw him on TV talking about the 1-2 home defeat by Arsenal in Dec 1994 and he said he realised in that game he could no longer jump for balls etc and during the second half of that season his influence seriously wained. So I think that is why he moved on as well as an issue about wanting to return to his family life down in the sunny south. Creaney being a useless flabby waster a la Rab C Nesbitt is another issue.

Mettomo
Sommeil(sp)
Those two were pretty good players, and in the last derby at maine road Mettomo and Wiekens were brilliant, against Van Nistlerooy and Solskjaer. Sommeil is a poorer version of Zaba, as he had all the 100% graft and attitude, but wasn't as technically gifted as Zaba is.
LOL at that post. comparing Sommeil to ZABBA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Comparing two people isn't stating that they are similar in every respect. I can compare myself as a footballer to Ronaldo because we're both tall, it doesn't mean that I think I can hit a free kick like him

Like I said I felt harsh on putting Musampa in not only because he was a fans favourite at the time, (kris musampa chant) and it's also a coincidence that during my time watching City which has been like since 2004-05 season I haven't seen many bad wingers apart from the notable McMannawoman. I considered putting Albert Riera a bit aswell as he wasn't that great in his loan spell for us but he wasn't here that long

Read it again the only comparable things I'm referring to are attitude and work rate, and I quite clearly state that Zaba is the better player.

By the way add Damarcus Beasley to the list!.

Martyn Margetson

Lee Crooks , Alan Kernaghan , Kit Symons , Tony Vaughn,

Ged Brannan , Jamie Pollock , Graham Baker , Peter Bodak,

Gerry Crainey , Lee Bradbury,

What's your worse City XI you can come up with?

Rules are they have to have played 10 games + (otherwise too easy) and they have to be players you've seen in your life time!

Here's mine:

David Seaman

Stephen Jordan
Michael Frontzeck (after having an amazing debut it transpired he was really shit)
Alan Kernagan
Laurent Charvet

Buster Phillips
Nigel Clough
Ged Brannan (although he scored a worldy against Forest)
Craig Russell

Robert Taylor
Lee Bradbury

Gareth Taylor

No way on earth Buster Phillips started 10 games!!! Bloody hell just checked he played 15 fuck me drunk!
Can you see if we got 10 million for him when he left

Surely Clough and Megson in midfield.

Striker has to be Adrian Heath 75 appearances as a striker.... 4 GOALS

Both were far better players than Gelson Fernades ! Isaksson for the keeper and the Whitley boys.

Mine is largely based on the frustration on the 06-07 season :)

Seaman

Mills
Howey
Sommeil
Jordan

Trabelsi
Dabo
Bosvelt
McManaman

Corradi
Fat Bob

Sammy red bastard McIlroy and Martin O'Neil have to get into this team. They were utter gash for us.

Anyone also remember Jimmy Conway in the early 70's..........................

No.1 was Danny Mills
No.2 was Danny Mills
No.3 was Danny Mills
No.4 was Danny Mills
No.5 was Danny Mills
....etc

Think the bitter little useless shit bag should be first name on the teamsheet!
