City fan hurt at Schalke - now in UK - msg on P39 (Donation link on P 36)

Just an update the guy who hit my mate has walked in with a brief and handed himself to police. Schalke FC are going to meet my mates solicitors fees as well as paying his hospital fees.
City & Schalke have also agreed to cover his parents hotel bills and also all their meals.

As per his health, he has fractures to his skull and jaw, he was put in an induced coma yesterday, and blood drained from his brain. He is still in a critical condition, thank you all for your support.

We are all in shock, he is the type of guy who would just walk away from any trouble, he his sister, mum & dad are top blues who follow City home away and abroad.
Great to hear. Hope he makes a full recovery soon

Thanks for the update. Terrible couple of days for the guy and their family. Hope he pulls through this!

Firstly, let’s hope this lad pulls through: our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. Makes you think doesn’t it?
There was a lot of trouble behind us in Block V with the corporate fans. I moved further down to avoid it when it was kicking off towards the end. The bus transport to the train station was fine but we waited 40 minutes for a train to Dusseldorf. We stood in sweltering heat in the carriage for another 30 minutes waiting for it to set off, herded in like cattle, many people sweating and unable to breathe. It was a disgrace. City should put in a formal complaint. We aren’t animals. Not the usual German efficiency as experienced at other clubs. Not impressed Schalke. Hope we beat you by at least 4 goals at the Etihad! Also, I think we should go back to picking up tickets with ID for UCL games, but make sure it’s better organised than Celtic.
I disagree about the picking up of tickets, i've done 40+ euro aways over the last few years, including the keegan era, sometimes if on the day trip i want to see something of the city where we are playing, ticket collections as you mentioned, celtic, was appalling, like bucharest we had to travel 4 miles to the stadium and back, and psg wasn't a brilliant experience either, kiev was close to centre and only 600 blues were there so wasn't to bad. The main problem is youngsters who can't take their ale or high on drugs or both that cause the problems, maybe sniffer dogs at airports, like the faroes, or at the ground might help.

A lot of people are very concerned and thinking of this young lad,its affected us all i think.
Best wishes and hopefully a speedy recovery, keep going blue.

Shocked to see this yesterday, brought back dark memories of what happened to one of our innocent supporters just following his team its disgusting theres no place for it.

Thoughts with the family and hope the lad in question makes a full and speedy recovery.

Best wishes from the red side of the Mersey.

Cheers. Although relations between fans of both our clubs aren’t the best at the moment, I think it’s worth pointing out that when City fan Carl Ramsbottom was seriously injured when falling down the stairs at Düsseldorf station following our previous game against Schalke in 2008, as he lived on Merseyside at the time, Liverpool and Everton fans held fundraisers for him. Think I also recall Gerrard getting involved too.

Will be saying a prayer tonight for a fellow blueboy sounds like he comes from a top family.
