City fan suffers broken leg after being attacked at Leeds game

It would not surprise me in the least if it was Leeds fans. There were loads last time we spanked them on the pitch - no fewer than six of them near us had left by half time of that game and they weren't the sort that cause trouble even if they weren't silent about who they supported - they bemoaned their team's weakness.

It would not surprise me if this was so-called Blue on Blue either.

Sadly this kind of incident doesn't surprise me in the least - the way I have seen some fans talk to each other, and I have been on the end of it too. Most recently my first game back from having a heart attack last autumn was the bloody 0-4 v Tottenham. There was a nasty piece of work on our row (a Johnny Come Lately from Sheffield now less) who had a habit of being always and giving Cuty players stick and abuse. He was at his worst in that Tottenham game. It was stressful to listen to especially given my health at the time. I managed to bite my tongue for 52 minutes until he abused Haaland and spewed more shite. Id had enough of the abuse and negativity towards City who were trying but just shite. I said "Why don't you go home? You're not enjoying it. " I got a volley of abuse. I said "Well, you're not a supporter. You haven't said one positive word to support the team all game." Not diplomatic i concede but the imbecile was appalling. It got worse and my Missus was concerned and I didn't engage after that but there were thinly veiled threats of somebody getting it. He was all talk and im not interested in scraping but you can see how it kicks off. It"s not just City that has this problem.
Hope you are recovering well. That was also one of my first games after heart attack and surgery. Bloody hell it didn't do my blood pressure any good! I am much better now and off to Fulham tomorrow. Keep the faith pal.

"However eye witness accounts suggest Leeds fans were involved using season cards belonging to City supporters"

Could this potentially explain why City originally thought they weren't Leeds fans?
If that is true then those City fans need a fucking large ban for helping this fiasco start in the first place.
Shame on you whoever you are and assuming its correct then expect the worst.
If incorrect then I`ll be the first to hold my hands up and apologise.

Also these rules don't seem to apply to away fans who hang whatever they want anywhere they want ,the stadium used to look great with all the old flags draped from the second tier

Exactly. Not to mention the European Ultras bringing flags, flares, smoke bombs, drums, etc into the ground, and cable tieing the drums on to rail seating stantions, etc.

Probably get a ban for helping out.
Easier for authorities to blame the victims and innocent bystanders who try to intervene.
Victim-blaming is rife.

If the club wanted my season card because I helped someone out who was getting leathered they can fucking have it.

Imagine what the new north stand will be like. Based on what I’ve read a section at the front will be like ss2…

There’s plenty of examples, including Leeds where large numbers of away fans are in that section. So the club are clearly selling tickets to whoever has the most money.

With the hotel included. I’m concerned games against the likes of Madrid are going to feel like an away game

One more thing.

I’m glad this thread has been reinstated.

I was fucking fuming this morning after I saw the thread had been pulled.
Why was it pulled did city have a word???? Didn’t you say earlier in the thread that you would think this would happen

They seem to care more about away fans than their own. Little girl injured by a scouse **** chucking a cup full of coins, and no one arrested, now coming out and saying Leeds fans weren't involved with this.
It bizarre how they never have our backs.
Saw this on Twitter yesterday, an absolutely crazy piece of information that I don't think would go down well with fans if more knew about it!

Never liked them light shows that much anyway...

The buck stops with Billy Bullshitter and Soriano, so many people are duped by the end of season review, sycophants R us. They treat the traditional support like shit, short term thinking and and the awful match day expertise, F them.

I agree they need to be challenged.

If this was on the continent clubs would be challenging their owners yet we seemingly don’t.

Sooner some of them making decisions for the club are gone the better

One of the less important things with away fans, but I really hope we ban drums in future. It's not our responsibility to make sure the away fans can maximise their atmosphere.

Leeds fans have and always will be proper scumbags. Got banned from Elland Rd 40 years ago. Coming back from game top deck just back to station when one of those pricks threw a brick through window where 2 city girls were and some of us retaliated by throwing seats down on top of the rats. Not me just all of us on top deck got arrested until those who owned up. Didn't get out til 3am! Not been back since funnily enough
Me and my mate were on the top deck as well lol. Never been in a dungeon like that since, at least we all got the cuffs off so we could have a smoke.

Only Ric and the Mods know why the thread was pulled.

I can guess. Most of us can.

Yes, I fully expected the thread to get pulled at some point, even after the original title asking Danny Wilson to resign was changed by Tim. The thread title has been changed again, I think?

Indeed, that game was the worst for the blood pressure! Sat at home the week (?) before that hearing us lose at Bournemouth wasn't great either!

I was told not to go to Southampton on medical grounds and had been looking forward to Tottenham...

I'm doing well pal thanks. Sorry to hear you had one too. Good to hear you're doing well too.

I don't have the points nowadays to get away much except Cup ties since I got wed in 07 - good on you for getting there. Give em a "Come on City" for me. Safe journeys and look after yourself. Those ferociously friendly Fulham fans...

The 1894 group tweeted that city were trying to get contacts from BM to dampen the situation maybe they did and that’s why it was pulled strange it was reinstated. Be nice if Ric or the ModsGave an explanation

The thread was initially pulled as we erred on the side of caution, just because it’s an ongoing police investigation. It’s now being discussed all over social media anyway so we reinstated it. Thread title was just amended to something more relevant.
