City fan suffers broken leg after being attacked at Leeds game

Didn’t we ‘join’ the super league because we were in fear of being left behind?

Left behind?

We are owned by a Royal family member in Abu Dhabi who is powerful, intelligent, wealthy, has spent his life in Government and politics, and is a billionaire.

His No2 is a man of high level politics, he met Donald Trump, a businessman, a millionaire, intelligent, articulate, and great on camera, etc.

Our CEO ran Barcelona, is clever, is a businessman, and is a millionaire.

We have a boardroom full of similar people, very clever, savvy, business people, with their finger on the the pulse, and have worked at City for years and decades.

Yet not one of them could see the Super League was never going to be accepted in this country or was going to become a reality in this country.

All they could see was revenue and money. Blinded by it!

Not only could they only see that, they couldn’t see 10,000’s of City fans boycotting the Super League games, and 1000’s of City fans protesting outside the Etihad before and during the Super League games, as well as other fans from other clubs up and down the country doing the same thing at their grounds.

City were never going to be left behind, because the Super League was never going to happen in this country.

Apparently, Real Madrid, the driving force behind the Super League, a club that wanted to destroy City, along with Barcelona, who owe City millions in transfer fees, and Juve, corrupt as a club can get in football, are still part of the Super League. Yet they are all still playing in the Champions League this season.

The Super League isn’t resting, it is dead!

And there’s only 1 Norwegian Blue and he plays for City.

And no, I wouldn’t have gone to a single Super League game, even if it meant losing my Super League season ticket.(arf!)

I would have rather stood and protested outside the Etihad against the Super League like 1000’s of other City fans would have done.

We are competing in a European super league whichever way you look at it, that consists of 3 divisions containing 36 teams in each division it started last season and not a single disagreement from anyone.

I said that in reply to City wanting to be in a Super League.

Ceferin and UEFA have created a CL, Super League, that the clubs wanted, with more money.

Would we have all protested outside the ground if we'd qualified (in 2nd, 3rd or 4th place) for the Champions League 30 years ago when it stopped being champions only? If not, why not?

When the winners of the Europa League can win the Champions League, it really isn’t the Champions League anymore. At least the European Cup was the proper Champions of Europe trophy in it’s old format.

Was supposed to have his operation this week last I read.

I had a pin put in my foot last Thursday, didnt make the Leeds game but someone used my ticket.

Tried today before 3pm to put it on the exchange and website wont let me do it. So that's me with a strike on my name from the club
Hope the pin works well for you. The Ticket Stasi will have you on the chart now. Get well soon

I call bullshit on that. I know a fair few blues who have gone longer than I have who will walk away completely.

Yes the JCLs etc will disappear but you will see more of the true blues go to.

We'll be having crowds similar to what Leeds etc were getting in the lower divisions
Absolute nonsense!

The thing though is that a lot of these 'tourist' fans live in the city and have fallen in love with the club itself .... they probably started watching city initially because we were winning trophies, but this club does still have a habit of 'growing on you' if you attend often enough!

The Asian fans for example can be extremely loyal to things they love, and you often see them in the City away support now, as well as the home games, so a lot of them they are clearly going the 'extra mile' to support the club ... I know a few of these asian fans myself because they live near me, they are 'City mad', they know all the players, they love Haaland, and they never miss a match ..... and socia media does indicate that City are extremely popular with plenty of fans all around the world these days.
To be fair that’s not who I mean by tourists (I know there’s a bit of a connotation to the word but anyone who actually wants to support City and watch the match is welcome by me).

I mean the ones who are clearly here on holiday and treat it like a tourist attraction: on phones all game/celebrating other team’s goals/wearing random team colours/standing up and walking around all through the match. Had a group of five Americans near me recently and it was unbearable, they were chatting shit for the whole match and up and down throughout and it really ruined it for me.

Had my BU115HIT shirt on and got chatting to a Leeds fan and did not have a Scooby what it was about had to explain the reason anyway we got on the same wavelength eventually and ripped the red brigade up for arse paper

We know what the good things are that have happened on the pitch. Which the fans have constantly praised.

We're talking about bad things that have happened off the pitch, and more specifically how the directors have treated the (Legacy) fans.

Even you can't be happy with some of the bad things that have happened off the pitch, just because City have been successful on the pitch?
Misery loves company

There have been loads of complaints about moving to 8 games and people dropping out of cup schemes due to it.

The complaints were about a closed shop SL, and the clubs shir the bed once Chelsea said they were pulling out.

Not sure if it's relevant but ....

Never used to miss a game at Maine Road, home and away season ticket holder etc. Family and financial commitments mean I don't get to many games nowadays.

Commercialisation, VAR, and the Disneyfication of football makes me wonder if it's worth it.

BUT when you get to the ground and hear the roar, by god it gets the hairs on the back of my neck right up.

I could never give City up, although they do push it at times, bit like a family. Occasionally a pain in the arse but you never fall out of love with them.

I got spat at by home fans going into Elland Road as a 20 year old girl

We had the last laugh as we won …1995 I think, possibly a Gerry Creany header 0-1 win
Ironically my Dad and I were at this one having borrowed a couple of season tickets from a lad at work who could not go. Did a lot of keeping quiet in the home ends in the 90's with a Leeds post code and them and the Sheffield teams accepting of the accent. You knew the score though, keep it calm, head down, don't be a dick and if you get outed that's what you do, get out!

Would I do it again in my late 40's? Nope. I get it, nowt beats being at the ground and if we did not have a ticket you pretty much missed out. Back then you had 5 minutes on MoTD to "enjoy" the game and the joys of 5 live without a sky dish. Today you can watch full match replies on club sites, 20 minutes extended highlights hours after kick off. No need.

Hospitality for anyone to buy is ridiculous for me but football tourism is not going away and it's going to keep on getting abused like this unless the club cracks down somehow. Not really got much of an answer tbh but at the very least if the billing / postal address starts "LS" for package purchases for this game decline the transaction surely?
