City fan throws beer at Gary Neville

Unfortunately there will always be one idiot. That’s all it takes.

But for Gary Neville to walk through a crowd of pissed up City fans who had been drinking all day, and were drinking after the match, what was he and Sky Sports thinking? If he had to walk that way, why wasn’t he given a steward or police escort? He was going past the City end, and up the steps to where the City coaches were previously parked.

I’m not blaming him for the disgraceful behaviour from that City fan, but come on Gary, what were you thinking when you decided to go that way on your own?
He wasn’t alone, Martin Tyler was there and speaking to some City fans

It's an act of gross stupidity and an embarrassment - it was mentioned and rightly condemned in another thread - so why the need for a thread of it's own to highlight it after a great occasion? Half a pint - stupid - hope whoever did it gets dealt with, but come on - playing into dipper and media hands this thread.
Come on mods, not the hair shirt and cilice today. "Assaulted" ffs

Mountain and molehill spring to mind.... Gary's jumper got a little bit wet, No one died, no one was seriously injured
and as others have said maybe a little bit of thought could have gone into maybe not parading him through a large crowd of pisssd up Blues

A bit of jeering and One knobhead throwing beer is hardly being "assaulted".

The blue with the shirt on and scarf who puts his arm around him and tries to protect him is my mad cousin from Rochdale who's in the navy.

he's not a "twat" though is he. he says it as it is, ok a red, its his team, that is allowed you know.

Personally thought he was a right **** the other night, at the Leicester game. Him and Carragher, taking the piss.
So yeah he is a twat, for me. Not condoning fans doing what was done yesterday, we all get tarred with the same brush.
