City Fans Leaving Early/Empty seats

Crowd looked good tonight, non stop singing and didn't notice too many leaving early.
Wish I could have been there.

People leaving early is something that's been happening forever. The sad thing is the reason. Most supporters that leave early only have one reason: Get home 30 minutes earlier.

It's entirely their own choice, but it's such a pathetic thing to watch, as someone that does stay until the end. You can't punish it, cause you can't exactly tell them to bring proof that they have a valid reason... like a doctor's note haha. Or keep the place locked down, like a prison. It's up to them. If beating the traffic is more important than supporting the team, there's very little you can do.

I always kinda hope that somehow, one day, they feel a bit of shame and they realise the team needs their support. Especially in those final minutes, when the players are tired and things are perhaps difficult or not going well.

Whatever they do, I will always be there when that final whistle goes. After all, we pay enough for it, might as well enjoy it ;)
Some people have happy lives at home and can’t wait to get home to their beautiful girlfriend or whatever and would happily sacrifice an irrrlevant few mins at the end of a game rather than spend an hour or more in the traffic chaos encountered when leaving at the final whistle

Which makes your previous post fucking laughable

Fair enough, you got me. I worded it wrong by saying "I will always be there when that final whistle goes"... forgive me, I'm Dutch, an import Manc. What I meant was that when I go to the games (which is normally at least all home games, both cups and league. Unless I've had surgery) I never leave early and neither should anyone else, really.

The laughable thing is people being worried about getting home 30 minutes later on a Saturday or Sunday.

Decent crowd, loads left early though, more than league games and it was quite flat other than South 1.

Not arsed myself though too much, had a great night with great seats.

Just bring her with you or watch the game at home, if you're that desperate to get home haha.

The last few minutes are far from irrelevant, I think. They're pretty important and plenty of games have been decided in those last few minutes. I'd be well annoyed if I was just exiting the stadium and heard the crowd inside cheer for a winning goal.

I get that being stuck in traffic isn't great, but for me it's part of the matchday. I know it'll take me 30-45 minutes just to get out of the carpark, but so be it. That's the price I'm willing to pay for supporting the club.

As I say, it's just my opinion. But I do feel leaving early is like sticking up two fingers to the players.
