City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Another unintended consequence of an ill-conceived , ill considered, short sighted and blatantly unworkable bent piece of blinkered and probably illegal so-called legislation, created by people "responsible" for rhe running of the greatest game in the world, to protect a handful of their wealthiest and most powerful friends at the expense of everyone else.
It would make you weep with despair.

There will be nothing other than a slap on the wrist for Hull. They have never been a threat to anyone. City are a different kettle of fish. We are a threat to the establishment and stopping City forcing entry is what FFP is all about. Its now just a matter of UEFA formulating a few words to get themselves off the hook of their own making, and I'm sure they will succeed.
It wasn't only about City though, and in our case it has rather laughably backfired, because we're no longer "a threat to the establishment", we're part of it, even if not a fully accepted one.

I heard on the radio that Hull City are being investigated as they are thought to have fallen foul of the FFP regulations, now this may be where the tide of public opinion starts to change. If a club like Hull can be sanctioned sfter their moderate spend but the rags can spend what they are then people will see how this rule protects the so called big clubs.

admittedly the rags cant fail FFP until they aspire to Hulls level and get European football so it isn't like for like.

however it will make people think, basically they are being told that now they have got Europa football they sre going to be stopped investing so they cant threaten CL.
Brilliant. 'The Rags can't fail FFP until they aspire to Hull's level.'

Strong possibility in a season or two should rags quality for Europe, they could be hit by ffp if uefa start taking debt into account, which they said they are looking into. So while we are marvelling at Messi in a blue shirt they'll be wallowing in a shit barrel partly of their own making waaa haaa haaa haaaa

Like you say some teams may pull out .
BUT some teams may chose not to qualify .
The implications of this could be massive .at the end of the season a team playing to be champions playing a team from 5/10 down who don't want to win WOW

Aren't teams "invited" to take part! In which case they can refuse
A club wouldn't chuck a game/games to finish in a lower position due to the huge amount of Premier league prize money per place

Re: City & FFP (continued)

I wonder if Allam will use the argument that he is trying to improve the financial situation at the club with the Hull Tigers rebrand, but the FA aren't letting him do it.
