I’m not sure why people think that when we break even, everything will be fine. We are restricted to spending within our income limits from then on, so it limits what we can spend and, de facto, who we can buy. It’s a shit sandwich regardless of how much sugar we sprinkle on it.
It's the same for everyone else. The difference is that our shit sandwich has a lot more sugar than most others, as we'll have one of the highest revenue streams in Europe in the next couple of years.

PB can you clarify two things for me here?

By accepting this fine:

1. We are now free of the 3 year aggregate monitoring, so in essence our worst year is now null & void and we are now being monitored on 2 standalone years?

2. FFP takes a fine from our winnings, but we can still declare this as revenue?

If these are correct, FFP is a farce and we'd have been mad NOT to have accepted it now.
That's spot on. Great isn't it?

It is. I keep trying to leave these FFP threads but it is addictive.

There was something about continuous monitoring and six monthly audits for the enxt two years. As I said previously, we are going to be the FFP experts!

All this talking to UEFA can only benefit us in the long term. It's beginning to feel more parental than bullying. Platini has ironically now given us the moral high ground and legitimised ADUG's activities. Well done, you bitter, corrupt, fat French fuck!

Moving on, it's all falling apart for the authorities. Scudamore now in a sexism scandal. Blatter talking about the Qatar WC being a mistake and both the latter and Russia WCs being investigated for corruption. Oh, and then there's the 'Let's see how the Rags and Dippers do' in the the next round of FFP to come. MCFC will not let this go now. We have UEFA by the balls now, trust me.

And this is another reason why we potentially don't nor ever wanted to defeat FFP (Unless it became obvious it was going to stop us competing in Europe full stop). Like it or not FFP rules probably as of now but certainly in 2 seasons time are going to do exactly as intended - Solidify the positions of the top clubs around Europe. Difference being we're going to be one of them.

We have the handy back up of being fucking loaded should Dupont defeat it anyway of course, but if nothing else changes we're still sitting prettier than most. Ferran/Khaldoon/Mansour will ensure our revenue streams outstrip everyone else's, along with our ventures in the states and Melbourne, and FFP will ensure we can still out spend our opponents.

I'm actually quite stunned at that.
UEFA have actually done what an organisation who is trying to ensure its members breakeven do. Set targets for future seasons.

I don't think there is anything inherently wrong with regulation or supervision by a regulatory body like UEFA. It's the motive and regulations themselves. OK UEFA accepted them, but the driving force was the old G14 clubs. Chelsea and now City's emergence produced this backlash. Incrediblybrazen of Chelsea to try and take advantage

This is all looking like a sop to the G14. What UEFA have done is let us into the cartel while humouring the greedy bastards at the G14. We have actually attained all our objectives while Uefa are seen to be tough and looking after the interests of the cartel. Everybody's happy. Apart from the likes of Wenger, Gill et al and they can't say a lot about it because we have complied with the process that they invented.
As a Blue i am happier this morning than when i woke up yesterday morning.

I'm amazed that they've done this. As it says above, it just shows how much of a farce FFP really is.

So that's it then? Our objections to FFP were motivated purely by self interest? Now that it looks like we're alright Jack, nobody gives a fuck about the fact that these regulations will prevent the dream that we've all enjoyed happening to anybody else?

Who gives a shit when the clubs you're talking about all voted FOR FFP whilst we voted against ... we are alright and that is ultimately all that matters.

Started in Red Lion in Bedlington - not newcastle really but not many would know it.
