Undoubtedly, whomever finishes fifth this year will now be lodging an objection, if there are even the slimmest hopes of their climbing aboard the CL gravy train.
Imagine Levy or Henry taking exclusion quietly? Me neither.
If there's no grounds to object (ie UEFA don't sanction City), they'll be up on their hind legs whining to the press for whatever satisfaction that brings. The papers, particularly during silly season, will run their tale of gripe with all the bells and whistles attached.
Strap yourselves in for a turbulent summer, any road.
Worst case scenario? We're out of European football for a year at most.
It won't come to that, in my humble etc but, even if it did, we'd pillage the silverware on offer, domestically. So, not all bad news.
It won't come to that, though. These things have a habit of being decided in favour of the people with the most money to throw at the problem (legal fees, potential revenue for UEFA, attraction to TV audiences etc all add up, significantly).
We'll be okay, no matter how much they huff and puff.
Listen to thunder, as we say in my part of the world. Listen to thunder.
