City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

The UEFA Club Financial Control Body Investigatory Chamber (CFCB IC) has today confirmed, after reviewing the full circumstances of the case, the lifting of a number of restrictions imposed on Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.
In particular, both clubs have been released, as from this season, from the restriction on registering new players in UEFA competitions, from the limit on the number of players on their A list, and from the restriction on the total amount of employee benefit expenses.
Both clubs demonstrated to the satisfaction of the CFCB IC that they had met all financial targets regarding employee benefit expenses and break-even compliance, as required under their settlement agreements for the financial years ending 2014 and 2015. In the case of Paris Saint-Germain, compliance with the targets was reached one year earlier than originally foreseen.
Release of the sporting restrictions was made provisional at the beginning of July, subject to additional controls and the submission of audited financial accounts by both clubs. After further review of the relevant documentation, the CFCB IC confirmed that all relevant targets had been met. When assessing the information submitted, particular attention was paid to the correct determination of the reporting perimeter and to the value of sponsorship contracts.
Both clubs are still subject to the settlement regime and will remain under strict monitoring throughout the whole 2015/16 season. Exit from the settlement regime is subject to the fulfilment of additional break-even targets for the financial year ending 2016.

It's remarkable how many restrictions have been lifted since the investigation into corruption within FIFA & UEFA began. I'm just awaiting the first bent official to break rank and confirm what a fucking sham this was from the very beginning.

What would our response be if the squealer was Gill in order to present himself as the saviour of all things corrupt in uefa.

There's no connection between the two events. It was always the case that the restrictions were going to be lifted once we proved that we'd complied with the conditions set out in the original sanction. It's nonsense to suggest it's a panic measure because of something Platini might or might not have done.

Agree. Don't think the restrictions have anything to do with the fact UEFA has eased the FFP. That was more due to the fact they know what little chance defending these rules will have in court. And FFP now also hampers some big teams in Europe who are part of the elite that tried and stop clubs like City and PSG breaking in this elite.

Pretty sure City will live up to any rule that is left within "Fair Play" next year, and will look back saying they handled the matter very well.

Time for UEFA to concentrate on the clubs' fans booing their CL-anthem ...

I may have misinterpreted HP's post, in that he may have meant general FFP restrictions rather than the specific sanctions imposed on us. I still don't think there's a connection as they were clearly thinking about this well before all the problems with Platini. It was probably more to do with some of the former G-14 clubs (particularly the Italian ones) worried that they couldn't attract investment. So when it suited them to attack clubs who'd had heavy investment they did so but when some of the clubs behind it realised they were stymied as well, they relaxed the rules. So definitely a complete sham.
