We live in Essex and today I took a half day and took the kids upto London for a day out.

I was surprised by the number of kids wearing the latest home shirt. Today I counted at least 7 kids wearing city shirts and only saw 2 arsenal shirts and 1 West Ham shirt!

My sons under 11 team has a squad of 13 and 4 of them including my son are city fans. Not unusual in Manchester but in Essex it is!

How times are changing as it was always Utd or Liverpool shirts if it wasn’t a London team.

Is anyone else noticing the large number of kids outside of Manchester wearing the famous blue

Definitely NOT in Somerset. Still Rags and Dippers to the fore. In my years teaching down here from 2007 I came across 2 Manchester City pencil cases.

Its increasing here on the isle if thanet. I have seen more of our new shirt than ever before.

But the most common are the dippers followed by the rags, in the kids age group's. Adults are mostly London clubs.

Saw a bloke with a City tattoo on his leg so we compared tatts lol i think he was surprised to see another City fan in ramsgate. I normally see City fans in the age group of 50 plus around here, mostly are visiting the area.

I travelled with a girl i met in India and Nepal back in 1991, she was from ramsgate and a rag,her brother followed them home and away,no connections to Manchester,
Last thing i ever said to her when we went our seperate ways
" tell your brother he's a **** "

Mentioned this on another thread about a year ago.

It's a generational thing and City have been attracting the latest generation of kids who are getting in to football over the last 10 year, not just in the UK, it's everywhere.

Like it or loathe it, the good thing is that it likely secures their support for the next 50+ years along with the long term future success of the club.

made my day this morning...dropped my son off at nursery with my city top on, as I walked out another dad arrived with a rag top on...oh I fell about laughing, he didn't know what to say or do....he put his head down and carried walking...oh how good I felt...

My missus has relatives in Norway, when we won the league the first time i couldn't believe that their kids over there had become City fans because of it. Then some more of her relatives came to England to visit earlier this summer, and they had also become City fans because of Haaland.

I was in Paris last week and there were a few City shirts dotted around there as well.

I remember going to Tunisia in 2014 and looking to buy a fake City shirt, but they had none anywhere of any quality. When i asked the guy, he just laughed and said City were a small club and would never be big enough to have shirts being sold there. It was hot and tiring in the sun and that got the better of me, so i told him he would be begging to order City shirts due to demand in future because we were gonna take over. Who's laughing now you stupid **** (assume he obviously reads this forum).
