We have just been average in the champions league. Won the odd game, not really thrilled anyone. This is our fourth season in the competition and we are no nearer to subsist it out than we were when we started. We need to play with more courage in these games.

We've had some rum groups however that aside, we're just not good enough in Europe.

In the big home games (Napoli, Dortmund Madrid, Bayern Barça, Roma) our record is:
P6 W0 D4 L2

Our squad is nowhere near good enough. Its not coincidence that we struggle especially against top teams. I think the manager thinks we are better than we actually are. Just so inflexible its untrue.

Rum groups but with a squad full of players who's first eleven would get into any of the teams we have faced. 'Manchester City' might be in those rum groups, but not Manchester City as you see it now. This is why people think it's a curse, because its like the club turns into thst 'Manchester City'.

Interesting post, Shem.

Considering some of the draws we've had it's not terrible.
Pot 1 we've had Madrid & Munich x 3.
In pot four we've had Napoli, Dortmund and Roma.
In the knock out stage we've had 2 games v Barca.

On the flip side 4 of our 5 wins last season were against CSKA & Plzen.

Press keep banging on about our poor form in the competition which doesn't help with how are performances are perceived.
Arsenal have hardly beat anyone decent in the last 4 years, but get away with it by qualifying by defeating weaker teams.

New seeding system will help us out.

We give average teams too much respect, we look shit scared of genuinely good teams. On rare occasions (CSKA, Ajax at home) we underestimate the opposition and pay dearly.

All in all - not good enough.

23
8-6-9

Multiple up it to like it would be 38 games (PL season).

13-10-15 record. Stoke or Newcastle's level in PL last season. Not the weakest but mediocre teams. Thats what we are in CL: mediocre. But I knew that without the stats too.:)

Too few clean sheets or defensively great performances vs the harder opponents so not like Plzen...

We had two wins vs Bayern but none of those was actually worthy. First came vs them at home vs Bayern B but then we lost to Napoli and finished third.
Then last year we beat them away from home in last game but again even if we lose that we are still second.
