City launch legal action against the Premier League | City win APT case (pg901)

Name calling like this in correspondence usually means its prime purpose is PR -
  • "rejects in the strongest possible terms the repeated and baseless assertions"
  • "does not provide a credible basis to impugn..."
  • "such threats are meritless, and advanced without any attempt to articulate a credible ground on which MCFC could seek to restrain the consultation process".
  • “a tendentious and inaccurate interpretation” of the minutes of a call held with clubs last month.
Banned Roan couldn't resist quoting a few words of scouse hilarity from the dippers aged shill - comedy gold:

Rick Parry expressed concern at “a whole raft of competition law cases which are impacting on the way that we run the game"."To be looking over our shoulder all of the time with challenges from clubs if they don't like rules… the game will grind to a halt unless we find a solution for that” he told BBC Sport. "I have no problem with us having to be more professional. But it's the willingness of clubs at the drop of a hat to challenge the whole system.”"You have to question how long you can function effectively while that mentality exists, and we have to find a solution to that.”

Quite right Rick, don't want anybody noticing the cartel passing a shedload of bent rules to keep your redshirt employers in the gravy for the past decade do we?

Quite right. City gave clearly defined reasons & the premier league made noise.

I don't understand why FMV is needed, if person A wants to invest in person B to help both become successful. Why has your rivals got a right to say how much person A can invest. That to me in a free market place seems bonkers
Ideally you don't want a situation like the one with Qatar Tourist Authority & PSG, where. the €200m per annum sponsorship is massively out of kilter with other deals.

They understand it all right.
This is true, but I think only partially. Some understand it, some semi-understand it, and some don't really understand it at all. With the problem being that those who understand it control those other two groups (sometimes covertly and sometimes in other ways).
They are in the cartel's pockets.
Who do you think runs the Premier League cartel?

What strikes me with deals like that is that they are unsustainable as PSG have found out. The market adjusts itself. There's a fundamental assumption in the PL's restrictions, perpetuated by the media, that owners from one specific area of the world own clubs for vanity reasons not as investments. I've not seen any evidence to support that.

I disagree. I happen to think that some of the "big" or "successful" (as you say) clubs exert great, great control over what the Premier League decides Fair Market Value is and how it should be changed. Some "successful" PL clubs do that to help themselves and ruin their rivals.

He meant "less successful than City and it hurts so much": Arsenal, Liverpool, United and, yes, Spurs.

Maybe the solution Rick Parry is to let clubs do what they want apart from using the club land stadium as collateral! And not come up for jobs for the likes of you to stay on the money train while doing the cartel American owners work!

I'm pretty sure no one is forcing Brighton to pay interest.

The rule change is that Brighton's PSR calculation needs to deduct interest that would normally be paid on the loan value, at market-rate %

That isn't what APT is about. It's about adjusting contracts to fmv, not just adjusting the PSR numbers. That's what ex-ante means: approved before contracted.

The clubs who threatened to break away resulting in the formation of the PL and who were the English representatives in the G18 that still run European football.

Or the clubs who were represented on the board of the ESL, or the clubs who gave evidence in support of APT against City, or the clubs who have reserved the right to claim compensation if City are found guilty of anything.

That must be quite a list. Oh, no. It's the same four names. Every time.

"To be looking over our shoulder all of the time with challenges from clubs if they don't like rules"
Thing is Rick, "the rules" you are referring to are rules set-up to help a certain group of clubs who've held English football in their strangehold for decades. And they're not willing to let that power go easily. So therefore you're saying only rules made up by Arsenal, Liverpool and that lot should be acceptable. But please, continue acting like you're all doing it for the good of the game and not to keep your own power and money. Mr Liverpool. The brazeness of these people just keeps amazing me every day. And they've been getting away with this as well.
