No one is dismissing this fine achievement. What people are saying is that it should not be compared to our record but, rather, to other records set over two seasons and other records set without meeting the top teams. It's about comparing like for like.

A lot of bitterness on here. If they win the next 4 games they have beaten our record. If they do fair play to them. Congratulat them and move on.

No one is dismissing this fine achievement. What people are saying is that it should not be compared to our record but, rather, to other records set over two seasons and other records set without meeting the top teams. It's about comparing like for like.
It's the record for successful Premier League games wins. No need to be pedantic about it and adding three more lines of text to describe it in case Liverpool beats it.
I'll repeat - if we won our first 6 games (and we should have done it), nobody here would ever question that we broke our earlier record. Come on, you know you wouldn't :)

Over two seasons or not it’s a phenomenal record, you could even argue it shows consistency over a longer period if you really wanted to given the timescale of the two records.
We were close to beating it before we drew at spurs, nobody would be dismissing it if we had done it. We got a shit load of attention and praise when we made it 18 on the bounce before palace stopped it, they’ll deserve all of the same and more if they break it however much we hate to admit it. If they manage it, it just gives us another aim, anything they can do, we can do better etc.
