Maybe these bonuses could be payed for by sponsors like Etihad, this would be a big help for the club to qualify for financial fair play, there has been talk of the rags trying to get nike help do a deal for Ronaldo, probably not true but the idea of outside help looks a good one.

And that's a problem. Arsenal players win enough games to be comfortable, but they don't win any trophies. The best players want medals to hand down to their grandchildren, and they want the lifestyle too. Only competition winners get medals, not players who finish fourth, and the type of player we want are only going to be motivated by the prospective medal count which won't come by signing just the one player. We would need to attract three or four world class players to ensure trophies, and they won't be coming for the gamble of a bonus when they know that someone else will pay double our basic as compensation for prospective failure.
