City reportedly pushing for Girona to play Barca in Miami

Since when were City nouveau riche? I firmly regard us as old money that pissed away the family fortune in the 70's, and 80's. And we'd won at least 2 (probably 3) league titles by the time Soriano turned up.

They should care about the history and traditions of City because that is what defines a football club and that's what sustained us for 30 potless years. They are only custodians of a tradition that is older than every employee and supporter of the club. I have no interest in supporting a generic media brand / corporate entity. I support a football club.

It's not a fashionable view but if there was a choice between ownership by the Sheik or ownership by the supporters I'd take supporter ownership every time. That's not a criticism of Sheik Mansour or his ownership which for most part have been professional, dignified and sophisticated and highly successful, it's just a general principle.
Sorry, can you fill me on why you think ownership doesn't care about Manchester City supporters? That's a big statement to make, and one which for which I see very little evidence for.

I didn't say that. I criticised Soriano who I don't be believe values or understands City's support at all. There's plenty of evidence of City pricing ordinary supporters out of their seats and prioritising the tourist or corporate attendee who will drive increased matchday revenue. City's fanbase for the most part is not wealthy and has lived through ten years of stagnant wage growth but that's not reflected in the price of match ticket or season card. Moreover there are plenty of small changes such as the allocation of away tickets to sponsors and ticket agencies, changing cup ticketing so there's no window to claim your own seat, scrapping points of blue, failing to improve the service in the bars, the behaviour of Showsec, and failing to sort the PA system in the South Stand which all suggest that your average season ticket holding blue is regarded more as a low value customer than the life blood of a Mancunian institution.

It seems to me that you have a problem more with modern football/sport than Ferran Soriano. City's ticket prices, both single game and full season, remain solidly on the lower end of the league table while the club has invested massively in both the team and the community over the last decade. All the other changes you mention are the result of it not being the mid 90's anymore.

The changes I mentioned are a consequence of a conscious decision to maximise match day incomes at the expense of our ordinary support. That's not progress and it didn't have to happen. It seems to me that you think it's inevitable that sport should be dominated by the accumulation of wealth and only accessible on those terms.

The club may deign to reduce prices for league cup games they couldn't give tickets away for but if you're poor the chances of seeing City play any of the top 6 is zero. £59.60 in block 115 for Arsenal at home is a disgrace. I'm not sure you can back up the assertion that we're at the lower end of the table for prices because we're simply not anymore.

Wonder how long before a competitive game in the UAE for a certain club?
Unlikely, it would need to be a premier league arrangement , if it happens it will be in an emerging market like the U.S or asia probably China.

The majority of the earth live in Asia so it is likely, including the UAE.

Speaking as someone who believes that football fans often exaggerate and overdramatise, I believe that La Liga's move to America will be seen in twenty years as the start of the end of top-level competitive football. If City have any part to play in it then I'll be extremely disappointed.
