Another former City player running a country.

Former Manchester City striker Mikheil Kavelashvili is set to become the president of Georgia after the country's ruling party nominated him as their candidate.

The 53-year-old joined City from Georgian club Dinamo Tbilisi during the 1995-96 season and went on to score three goals in 28 appearances for the club.

Mikhaeil Kavelashvili, George Weah, who's next? Shaun Goater as king of Bermuda?

As I've said in other threads, wait until the media really get hold of this one.
He might be an ex Blue but he is firmly wedged in Putins pocket.
No doubt Sheikh Mansour rigged the election as a favour to Putin and to stop the pro European Party getting in.

It's a pity that we haven't got any pro-USA ex-footballers in Central America then because they would certainly be 'aided' into power.
