Just realised my post may get lost in the middle of this thread, so an update from 1st November 2014 about a charitable donation:
----
Just has a shock as the United quiz book I published for a friend has finally outsold the City one (Do You Love Your Team? A Quiz Book for Man City Fans) in the last month. Can we restore pride?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Love-Your-Team-Quiz-Book/dp/1481199145/

As I'm in shameless marketing mode, I've got a second book out which is a mix of quizzes, jokes, facts and fun with vague connections to Xmas: The Christmas Football Quiz Book, Joke Book, Fact Book http://www.amazon.co.uk/Christmas-Football-Quiz-Book-Joke/dp/1503016986/

And to help with my conscience I'm aiming for 1000 copies sold of all my books this Xmas and if we do it I'm going to donate £500* to charity :)

Any suggestions for charities welcome - preferable something local that doesn't get much press.

*Some small print that's good news! Even if I don't reach the target, for any sales under 1000, I'll donate 50p per book anyway - so every sale counts (and that covers either the paperbacks or the ebooks).

Hi - Ric kindly allowed me to mention my new City quiz book on here last month. Thanks to everyone who gave me feedback.

Just wanted to update on progress. We published a United quiz at around the same time (written by a sadly deluded United fan) and both are available on the Kindle, (and the Kindle apps for iPhone, iPad, Android, PC and Mac at Amazon). The good news is that the City quiz is outselling the United one! If anyone has bought it, many thanks.

If anyone likes a quiz, here is the first section

Do you love your team? A quiz for Man City fans

Pre-Season training - First Half

1. Born in 1953, he scored the goal that took City to Wembley in 1981. Who was he?

2. Who did City beat in the 1956 FA Cup Final?

3. From which club did City buy Georgi Kinkladze?

4. Who was the first Irish player to win City's Player of the Season award?

5. Tony Book played well over 200 games for City, but how old was he when he signed?

6. Which 2008 Olympic gold medallists went on to play for City?

7. City legend Mike Summerbee's son also played for City. What was his name?

8. Who captained City to a 1986 Youth Cup Final win over Manchester United?

9. Which outfield player saved a penalty, when Tony Coton was sent off in a 1991 league match?

10. Whose autobiography is entitled, “I'm Not Really Here”?

The answers are in the free sample you can download from Amazon, but do have a try before you sneak a look. The sample is here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005WF9YDC*

There's an article about it on the publishers site too: http://www.candescentpress.co.uk/blog.php?p=4

*note to mods. Hope it's ok to post a link. If not, please let me know. Thanks.

Not a surprise. Unless the answer is Rooney or Alex Ferguson most United fans would be stumped.

Can't believe how old Tony Book was though. I knew he was getting on a bit, but what a legend.

Love the website too. Do you plan to release more City books? I've always wanted to write one.

Cheers for the comments. Can't imagine a Tony Book happening again - hard to imagine he was over 30 when he first played in the football league.

As for books, yes we do. If anyone has written, or wants to write about City, we can advise on getting published online. So long as you take it seriously, you have a good chance of earning a little money.

Only thing I wouldn't work on footballwise is 'hoolie-porn'.

It looks a very good book.

I love quizzing and trivia.

I think I'll put it on my Christmas list.

Oh, BTW, I scored 9/10. The only one I got wrong was about the Irish PotS.

Cheers - I tried to mix in all levels of questions so that everyone would be able to get some, but a few would stump even the best :)
