CITY: SHOWSEC, Atmosphere, & Blatant Bullying.

Has city voice sent anything else sincevits atmosphere questionaire? I gave blunt answers stating stewardship was heavy handed and never had another survey since.

Also who the fudge complains about people standing at a match?

Can I offer some perspective without it turning into a full scale argument.

Yes, I work for Showsec and have done for the past 2 seasons. I have never been involved in the Block 109 saga, but I do know a couple of the people who are and they are genuinely nice people. They are asked to do a job at the orders of the Club, and they do it.

I noticed a couple of posts about aisle ways, which is normally a job for the City Stewards, not Showsec. For clarification, anyone wearing a yellow (not hi-viz) or purple jacket are Showsec staff. Anyone in orange or yellow hi-viz with City Logo's on are employed directly by the club.

City have to comply with regulations, or at least do what is reasonably practicable in an effort to comply. There are representatives at each game for all the relevant bodies, and the Stadium would not be allowed to open if the club were unable to comply with the terms of their license. This means that all of the security companies employed at City must do as the club asks of them.

People are calling for Showsec to be removed from the Stadium, but this wouldn't solve any problems. If Showsec didn't do it, then IOS, Glo Security, G4S or any other you care to mention would be put in their place, and would operate to the exact same guidelines as Showsec do. I went to a Stoke away game once and it literally looked like they had just found a load of prison escapees and gave them a black security jacket, it happens at all Premier League clubs I would imagine, but with different security firms.

I wouldn't condone any sort of violence to any supporter, and I would urge you to report the individual directly to Showsec Management. We all have to carry an ID badge that has our details on it, and anyone that has an SIA license has to have it displayed for your information.

These aren't the views of Showsec and are purely my own, but I have read the thread and thought it needed a little balance, that's all.

Like many have said we know that the orders are passed down from the club and we know that many of you are good at your job, the problems are (again as people have said) the inconsistencies and the way policies are implemented, for instance all that which happened in 2011, all that which happened yesterday and everything inbetween yet when Celtic fans are peppered about in the home end there was not a Showsec steward in sight and certainly few ejections even after the efforts the club (you know the ones who pass those orders down?) made to make sure as few Celtic fans were in the home end as possible. On top of that is attitude, one of the male stewards at the back of the lot escorting the people out was sniggering and grinning at people as he went past, this is not the attitude to have no matter how you feel like you've been treated.

The biggest joke in all of this shit is the fact that if you resist to leave the police will quickly respond and you will be treated like a fucking criminal yet in your day to day life for the past 50+ yrs in this country you've been generally a law abiding citizen.

Yet every weekend kids are running amok in our bars and clubs, I've seen kids sniffing cocaine literally in front of cops and guess what? They've done fuck all as they can't be assed with the paperwork and or hassle.

Yet they'll pick on the weak and vulnerable for standing up in a football stadium.

If you tolerate this fair enough, keep going.

Change only occurs when people get up and protest.
Leave the kids taking cocaine alone. They've legalised some drugs in Portugal and crime has gone down. Society's problems are not drugs.

Watching from the back of 107, it looked like a complaint had been made from the rear of 109. Supporters at the rear of 109 had been arguing with 3 stewards partway through the first half, there was a mass meeting Showsec, safety stewards, police and a chap in dark suit with beard on the disabled access ramp. The meeting continued on the concourse and shortly after further stewards and police arrived to undertake the ejection of the supporter(s) nearer the front of 109.

Make your own conclusions but I believe the stewards had received complaints about standing restricting the view of some supporters to rear of 109, the chap in the suit was called and he made decision to eject.
The lad at the back arguing with the light haired girl from Showsec was asking why they were plaguing 109 when there were people stood all round that corner from 109 right though to South stand, she spoke back to him like he was a piece of shit at which point he lost the plot a bit with her, defo wasn't complaining about people being stood in front of him.

I suppose it could be a pain if you can't see due to someone standing in front of you. To be honest I wouldn't want someone constantly standing in front of me but I suppose if you go in those areas you are going to get that. It pisses me off people standing on steps leading to exits and at exits near the final whistle and half time. Either go or stay but don't just hang around. Stewards are shit at dealing with this.

Mate of mine is 70 and returned yesterday from his 3 game ban. Hes been going over 50 years and never had any issues before. Sits in 125 so this goes on all over the ground. Part of me thinks they will look to pick on people more and more in this area too as this will be the next block to go to make way for expansion of the 'glass tunnel experience '

No doubt another easy target for a shithouse Showsec degenerate, 50 years a blue and a three game ban, says it all about the powers that be at the Etihad these days, f**k off City!!!

Don't stand in 109, but the next time Showsec start their games, as many people as possible should walkout and stand on the concourse for a period of time. Then they should walk back down together back to their seats and continue standing.

I was fourth row in 109 for four seasons (2010-2014) and it was always an argument with the stewards about standing. 109 is the block where they have decided that standing has to stop. It's annoying but you can see their point. If everyone stands in 109 it will then Start to spread into 107. At some point they've got to make seating to be enforced.

I moved into the south stand lower two seasons ago. Everyone stands and it's a great atmosphere. People in 109 who want to stand should look at relocating. It's about £100 cheaper as well!
