City Street, what would you like on it?

improving the match day experience is something Gary Cook has mentioned a lot and it seems that over the past 12 months the club has been trialing a number of the initiatives which are now being talked about as part of city street, etc. maybe we can glean an understanding of what to expect

the buskers
printworks days
the little sweet shop cabin on Joe Mercer way
the pockets of mini city stores positioned around the ground
the 'half term' specials - mini football, penalties through holes, etc.

i know there's been a lot more than this, anyone recall others which may give us further clues as to what we should expect

Replace the mosiac of Joe Mercer at near the city store with a statue of him holding the division one trophy aloft.

Norah loves the mosaic though,so we shouldn't lose it. In fact the side showing his back view (looking out towards the Kippax) is the side she prefers, not the trophy side. She prefers the bow-legged view because that's what made Joe in her eyes.

Many clubs have statues but when we set up the Mercer mosaics we wanted something different because in our eyes Joe wasn't the same as Busby, Shankly, Revie, Bremner, Matthews and so on.... he was differentand mosaics had a history at City (the ones at Maine Road) and perceived as more special.

I get what people say about statues, so how about keeping the mosaics but adding a statue of Mercer, Allison and Albert Alexander - there's a great photo of the 3 of them in my biography of Joe: "Joe Mercer, OBE: Football With A Smile" and it's worth remembering all 3 men.

Posted this on the vegas thread, but here's what was on the planning document.
