Was watching the 76 League cup Final the other night and our shirts were or seemed on the video a very deep blue.
Was at the match and from memory the shirts were not the "old Sky Blue".
Mind you I was pissed out of my head.
Remember with a mate getting the tube at Wembley after the match and singing away for 5 minutes " Dennis Tueart walks on water" untill we realised the rest of the carraige were Geordies and were not joining in.
24 years old and did not give a fuck...happy days

Similar story..........Had a few pints after that game and 5 of us put together a little ditty.
We've got rhythm, we've got music
We've got the league cup
Who could ask for anything more

Singing at the top of our voices,turned into the tube. Packed with upset geordies.

Memory fades, but I think I stood there with arms outstretched and said
"Come on then ,you geordie barstewards, who wants it?"















or I pooped my pants and ran for it.
