Sky just showed some footage of Mancini out on the pitch with all the defenders doubling up with each other, literally showing them exactly what he want's from them positionally depending on where the opposition have the ball.

Also showed how he want's the forwards, had all four out there, to close down the opposition when we are without the ball.

Quite interesting considering our defensive lapses of late.

I saw that.

It is about time as well, we should have learnt from Madrid that pressing football is king in modern football, there is no place for sitting back and hoping to catch loose balls, that style is dead and buried.

Possession football wins you games in European competitions, or domestic leagues such as La Liga, it's is not like the Premier League where the main trait is enthusiasm and determination.

Both Madrid and Dortmund have done pressing football on us, Barcelona call it the 5 second rule.

Hart

Zabaleta
Richards
Lescott
Kolarov

Milner
Yaya
Barry
Nasri

Aguero
Dzeko

Main thing I want is Aguero and Dzeko to start together.

Great footage. I do want to see more of this on inside city :) Not just the 'ball in circle'.
Also Sky suggesting that Mancio will put all 4 strikers tonight, how is this possible? or I misunderstood the reporter?

I would love this game to become our first big win of the season, but you never know with any team in the Champions League as anything can happen. Plus, this Ajax side is not the best one I have seen to be honest, especially if you compare it to the one they had in the 90's.

Mancini has to make the correct team selection and he must go out to dominate the midfield with a triangle of Milner, Barry and Yaya.

I think he will start with Tevez and Kun tonight if you ask me, although I would like to see Dzeko up top with Kun and Tevez behind - for me, Tevez can play in the hole as a creative outfit, and I believe he is just as good as Nasri at it, but not Silva.

Dortmund barely won them at home with a goal in 87th minute while they kept Madrid on 0:1 for some 60-70 minutes with one huge chance on that score.

Does anyone know if the match will be shown anywhere near piccadily gardens? I'll be at a gig at the roadhouse until 7:30 so I dont have much time to frantically search around.

Agreed.

And it's quite telling to see him doing it in such a public display, as he is clearly unhappy with thing's.<br /><br />-- Wed Oct 24, 2012 5:28 pm --<br /><br />

I hope not, can't even really see him starting with 3......but who know's.

Here we go:
Manchester City FC ‏@MCFC
#MCFC team to play #Ajax: Hart, Richards, Kompany (C), Lescott, Clichy, Milner, Barry, Nasri, Y. Toure, Aguero, Dzeko #ajaxvcity

Happy with that line-up, I think we definately need at least one attacking fullback in Richards, rather than two out and out defensive ones in Zabman and Clichy!
