Cole Palmer at 18 is doing that thing that Foden and Sancho did where he just makes U21 football look easy. Dont want him loaned out, showing too much potential at this young age and dont want him ruined from the loan, he has lots of time on his side.

Foden and Sancho were 17 when they did it but Palmer at 18 is still quite young.

The 3 CBs in the U21/U18 in CJ, Burns and Mbete are hugely promising + Taylor.

Nmecha is now 20 and has just outgrown this level, would like to see him get a cup chance but will likely get a loan in January.

Really enjoyed the game.

There’s some good prospects in the team.

Mbete looks very promising in defence. Palmer was excellent and Delap looked a threat, even if it didn’t quite go for him. Gomes, although not one of those prospects, really helped to improve the shape of the team playing at 6 compared to the game against Everton.

Looking towards Delap being in the first team, he needs to improve his link play and decision making around the area. Nevertheless he probably needed that game and definitely should be on the first team bench as he offers a real presence. Looking forward to seeing him develop.

If we’re going to regularly be playing with a starting XI as strong as we did today then there’s no reason why we shouldn’t win the PL2. Maybe it’s a change in direction from the club and Maresca in particular.

We are seeing the fruits of the investment now and what is incredible is the age of this team, several having come up this year.

Palmer was born in Wythenshawe and has been at City since the U8s, totally different scenario to Sancho. Think more Foden or Doyle.
