City v Shakhtar Post Match

Yup
Amazingly totally missed by the commentary team. Actually maybe not amazingly at all....
Brilliant vision and skill. A far cry from Joe's days!
I was listening on bbc radio and they had Super Ally Mcoist as a pundit?! Anyway, he nearly choked on his tea when Eddie did that. Clocked it immediately and was enthusiastically complementary about his distribution.

Good side.

Our final ball was often shit & our finishing not quite there but we still beat a side who were right up for it.

I recon our previous sides would have lost that without getting close to them
.
This sums things up for me this year. I feel a surety about us like we had in our pomp under Bobby. A self belief that we know we are doing things right and that they will work.
Added to this a genuine desire to get after teams, typified in last night's game by the fact that everu time we went in gor a challenge we seemed eager to turn immediately upfield and if we could, get goimg with the ball. Also some exquisite passing out from the back at times.

Haven't seen anyone mention Jesus. I know he's scored a few this season, but he hasn't looked good, and tonight he went missing.

Great result and good, professional performance.

Always liked Delph and pleased to see him becoming a big part of the squad.

CTID

Jesus is at his best when he's leading the line on his own, but unfortunately for him Aguero's been playing too well for him to have that opportunity as of yet (The game at West Brom was tough as we weren't full strength and he got kicked to bits).

I wouldn't be surprised to see Jesus start on his own the second Aguero hits a rough patch. Until then he's going to have to adapt, which to be fair he's not done a poor job of.

it was refreshing to see a team actually playing football against us, and as others have said they are the best team we have played this season. In the first half they rattled our cage and looked very well organised and with lots of individual skill. I don't think we were complacent, they just played really well.

Credit to the half time rev up. We took control in the second half and eventually our class told. I thought our English defence stood firm, and Stones was outstanding. Merlin and Kev lifted, and it was great to see Gundogan return. Special mention to the cameo by Bernardo.

A great preparation for the Chelsea game. We needed sharpening prior to such a big game.

Really enjoyed that last night, best team we've been up against so far this season, and wouldn't surprise me if there will only be one or 2 premier teams at the etihad who will match them. Much rather watch this than donkey teams trying to kick us off the park.

Like the way pep seems to be able to adjust tactics as required.

He is looking a very very good buy. Brave, quick of line and distribution as you say is superb. He even catches the ball! Bravo never did that

Totally agree. They had some very decent footballers. I liked their left back in particular he and walker had a good tussle throughout. Was an open game and both teams played football. Chances wise we should have buried them though.

congrats City, get the wins in, even when we have a not so sparkling night on the pitch. Props to Shakhtar who played some intricate stuff and moved well.

These are the games that used to end up 1-1, and now end up 2-0 :)

They were excellent and played the ball in a similar way to us and were very athletic. Bernard looks a good player.
