City v Shakhtar Post Match

What's this ill informed nonsense about Jesus not playing good this season?... some fans are so over the top, he's been consistently brilliant linking up with Aguero in the vast majority of games. His goals haven't been spectacular ones but he's offering much more than just that, it's a symptom of how good our buildup play as a team has been and he's been involved in the thick of it, his pressing, movement, passing, infact you name it have been top notch and most of us(and the pundits and Pep) have been highlighting it in the games he's played.

Seems some find problems where there are none at the first sign of a possible dip in form, last night may have just been down to tactics as Pep stated(but what does he know right? Was it that he played poorly or did he not see enough of the ball to begin with because of how the game panned out?), Sterling and Sané together create more width to our play with cover for the fullbacks when needed.

Agree with this. If Aguero was shunted out wide right, he would have suffered the same fate. We'd have been better off starting with Sterling & bringing Jesus off the bench to replace Aguero.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing & I think Pep realised his team selection error & that's why there was an early change in the 2nd half.

We should either play both Aguero & Jesus centrally, or have one on the bench & start the other. Square pegs, round holes.....

Analyse the hell out of it but he played poorly last night - saw enough of the ball but it was just his off night - it happens. Can't blame tactics for poor first touches and misplaced passes.
Pep knew this and hence the early second half change.
He'll be back to his brilliant best soon though.

Yeah we should just be happy that we have more options now going forward than we've ever had in that they can change the way we play, not just like for like which isn't always useful.

What mistakes did he make?(besides a couple of offsides which were half down to the passer not being fast enough) You can claim it all you like but if you can't back it up with some insight best just stay hush, wasn't poor you can also overlook it "all you like" but it was tactics and the team as a whole(our midfield and side backs struggled at times in that first half far more of weak point) not one player at fault.

he's no Rashford that's for sure

It was a good win against a side who are way ahead of anything else we've faced this season so far.
3 pts, 2 goals and none conceded, well happy with that.

It was a good test, a team that surprised us as they did Napoli but we came out on top and will probably be better for it.
