City v United |Carling Cup | 19th Jan |Match Day thread

if i see anyone put Sylvhino in their starting line up, ill cry.
he is slow as fuck & will get done again just like vs spurs (lennon)

going to be a hardd match coming off a defeat
so i cant predict a score yet

I'd go for

-------------------- Given -----------------

Zabaleta -- Richards - Kompany -- Garrido

------------- De Jong --- Barry ------------
Shauny ------------------------------- Bellamy

-------------- Tevez ----- Benjani -----------

Predicting 2-0 to City with Benjani (off his knee) and Tevez to score.

If he is fully fit, I would like to see Nedum in defence with Zabaleta adding extra bite to our midfield where the Rags will probably play five across the park, leaving only Rooney up front.

Butterflies in stomach..........check
One second looking forward to it.......check
The next second dreading it.......check
Not knowing what to expect.......check

I can't make a prediction other than we're either going to be amazing and hammer them or dreadful and get hammered. They'll be no inbetween with this game!

I'm like this now and it's ages before the game :-(

Does anyone know if we're gonna keep those RAG C##TS in for an hour after the game like they do with us every year..?

Stephen Ireland will return to the Manchester City bench for tomorrow’s Carling Cup semi-final with Manchester United at Eastlands.

Ireland has missed three games after picking up a hamstring injury at Wolves, but Roberto Mancini will have the midfielder amongst his substitutes tomorrow as City look to establish a first-leg lead.

Roque Santa Cruz will miss his club’s bid to reach a first domestic final since 1981 after suffering a recurrence of his calf injury at Everton, while Patrick Vieira (calf) will not be considered for his debut.

Team (from): Given, Taylor, Zabaleta, Richards, Onuoha, Sylvinho, Garrido, Trippier, Wright-Phillips, Kompany, De Jong, Barry, Bellamy, Robinho, Benjani, Petrov, Weiss, Tevez, Vidal, Boyata.

We need the bite and enthusiasm of Zabaleta somewhere, possibly in midfield. Robinho does not really merit a start so Benjani may have to play.

For the second leg I could see us going 433 with A midfield trio of Ireland, Barry and Vieira.
