City v Watford post match

Have to admit we played better against Chelsea and got fucked 3-1.

A Pellegrini like performance. A lot of the ball, very little creativity or threat to the Watford goalkeeper, could have ended 1-1 as per the Boro game if Ighalo scored his sitter.

Thankfully it's 3 points, but it's all very flat.

We were so low on confidence, flat crowd and a very disjointed performance, just no fluidity.

Can't say I'm looking forward to Sunday, we are going to have to up our game significantly.

As an aside, and maybe it's due to the lack of confidence, but absolutely no "style" to our play whatsoever. Other than a slight bit more pressing it was very reminiscent once again of a Pellegrini game.

Hey ho, roll on Gabriel Jesus.

Give it a rest

Just what I think, if he was the striker he was bobbins at it, tonight
I'm with you UG, there were two or three occasions when we just needed a real striker to be in the right place for an easy tap-in, but Nolito was elsewhere at the time. Not really blaming him - hanging around the six-yard box isn't as easy as it might appear.

Not watched Silva's goal again, from in the ground surprised the ref didn't pull it up for kdb taking a chunk out of the Watford player in the build up.
Was it a bad one anybody ?

I would like to thank the blue who before the game offered me a drink of his red wine when a combination of my diabetes and too many layers after a longer walk than normal from the car to the ground caused me to have "the shakes". Fortunately my mate bought me a sugary coffee and with the removal of a couple of layers I was back to normal within five minutes .

As for the game it was just one of those performances where it was all about the result. We were let off the hook with the Watford miss but managed to snag the second goal which put the game to bed.

A professional 2-0 home win, and we move onto the Arsenal game.

On a side note why did the announcer wish everyone Merry Christmas when we still have a home game to play before Christmas Day. Ah well matters not.

Watford are built like tanks, and we've not played many teams like that for a long time; three City players just bounced off the guy Success in quick succession. A tough, physical game, and I actually thought the introduction of Fernando gave us some much needed solidity.

When have any of our strikers been there for tap ins? Maybe Dzeko. Sergio is all over there place and most of our players are way behind the game ,somewhere on the edge of the box.

We did ok. Best thing is we defended a bit deeper and other than the 1 chance they never looked like scoring.

Add some zip to our attack and we will have a chance v arsenal. I would love to see a repeat of the 6 3 from a few years back but will settle for 1 nil.

Agree. We look a completely different team lately. I will feel a lot better if we can return to a back 4 of Sagna, Kompany, Stones and Clichy. Might not be that great but a lot more solid than this jittery looking set up we have now. No wonder the crowd was tense tonight. It was better don't get me wrong but think Arsenal will rip us to pieces on Sunday.

Professional performance and important three points. Did not create many clearcut chances but at least managed to score two and kept a clean sheet. Good to see Zabaleta's ability to drift in and make good runs finally pay off with his goal. Another important game in the weekend.

Thought that was a lacklustre performance that was worse than how we played in a fair few of the games we haven't won. But we got away with it tonight as Watford missed a sitter and we managed to get the second goal.
Lacklustre is the last word I would use. Each and everyone bust a gut for the cause. After such a poor run, I find it quite sad that you and others cannot simply be happy for the result. Stronger tests await but moaning after tonight after the bad patch we have been in is frankly disappointing.

Professional performance and three points and still some aren't happy.

They also weren't happy when we played amazingly well and drew at home to Everton.

So which is it? The performance or the points?
