Team selection, for both teams, might be a decider. Costa looks like he was rested, and Sergio barely broke a sweat, so both teams big strikers are ready. The question now is whether the City midfield can win and keep enough of the ball to provide service to the forward line.
As for Yaya, who knows if he will show up?
And, if what happens to City happens to other clubs, then Lampard has to start and he will score the winner!!!(JK)
Milner has to start, so I'd play a middle three of Fernandinho, Yaya and Milner, with Navas and Silva wide and Sergio upfront on his lonesome, with support on both flanks and one of the three providing deep support.
Zaba comes in, as does Kolarov. If everything is going well, the changes would be Nasri for Navas or Silva, and Dzeko for Sergio. If not, Dzeko for one of the three midfielders and Nasri for Navas or Silva, depending on what we need most....a winger to whip it in, or a creative central player to try to find a hole and breach the wall along the 18 yd line.
This is Chelsea's first real test this season in the Prem, after having failed their first CL test tonight!! Both teams have something to prove. Chelsea will come not to lose and to break on us when we leave ourselves exposed.....which we do far too often, and everyone knows it!
For us, it is about winning the midfield and playing our own game, rather than letting Chelsea dictate pace and tempo, or allowing them to boss us in the middle of the park.
Mourinho would be ecstatic with a 0-0 draw. That would drive Pelle mad.
