City Vs Newcastle League Cup Pre match Thread

Is it normal for seats in 225 to go on general sale? They are categorised as "CORPORATE" on the planner and going for only £20. The attendance looks like it'll be higher than our usual in the League Cup, but I thought with Kids for a Quid, it might be further along by now with CB level 3 opened to the public. I wonder how low prices have to go for a League Cup game against a non-top 4/6 team to sell out.

It's a strange one isn't it. I personally love the league cup. Can't argue with cheap tickets and the game gets resolved on the night! I think we're finding out how many season ticket holders probably aren't based locally (which isn't anyones fault) who can't justify coming from 2 hours away to watch us play a reserve side. In 4/5 years time if we stay successful I imagine the stadium will be busier on these occasions.

Look at United/Arsenal as well, they never sell out these games!

There'll be as many Blues there on Wednesday night as there were Utd when they played Newcastle in the League Cup in 2012

Not sure why we take these domestic cup games so serious .. why cant we get the reserves to play in them ?

I rather have League Cup trophy than nothing. Yes you would probably say that it can hinder our other comps, but there is never guarantee we win PL. Last season, we played quite strong teams in LC and still won PL. Don't see the problem with the squad we have.

there's no guarentee we will win the league this season but we will definately maximise our chances of winning the league if we try to keep our best players fresh.

if i dont see 11 fringe players playing against newcastle id be bitterley disappointed.

At least it appears that serial kicker Check Tiote is sidelined. That'll be three or four of our players who stand a chance of not being injured for the weekend.
