City Vs QPR Post match Thread

It was a great game. We were totally dominant in the first half, QPR came back at us in the second.

I have never seen a City side with more confidence and passing the ball so well.

Mancini's substitutes were bob on, and after all we won the match.

There is no way that we will play like champions every match. But we have it in us to play like champions when it matters.

To play like we did today and lose would have been an injustice. We won because we were better.

We'll win against similar teams this season in much worse circumstances, because we will be better than them. We'll lose a few too make no mistake.

The big games against the big teams will define us as always. And we'll step up to the plate and be examined.

So my point is how can anybody complain about our performance when 3 games in we have won 2 and drawn 1?

If you were a kid in the late 70s early 80s and went at the bottom of the Kippax or on the wall you might remember a Scots bloke who gave out sweets and chatted to kids [yeah I know..] I assumed he was dead cos I've not seen him for about thirty years but I saw him on TV today.

In case anyone is interested.

;-/

"Gave out sweets ..... chatted with kids ....." That'll get you arrested today !

Shaky at times with little urgency, but we never needed to get out of second year. Happy with the result.

It certainly wasn't the greatest performance City have ever given , but it still yielded three goals , and , even more importantly , three points.

We did look slick and accomplished at times , and bossed possession for the main part .... but at other times we looked jaded and nervy.

The defence looked anything but solid in that second period , QPR might easily have notched a second goal , and in truth we'll need to be much better than that at the back against better quality teams .... but equally we might well have scored more ourselves .

The level of fitness looks a bit worrying , we appeared tired towards the last quarter of the game , and maybe we should reconsider the amount of long distance friendlies we play before future seasons ..... but it WAS three points , and that's all we could have asked for anyway.

Tevez!! 1 goal, and 2 assists, wasn't it?
Great player..and the best thing is he still has not reached his peak performance that we are so used to..

btw, shouldn't we have got a foul on that push on Silva by Andy Johnson that led to the QPR goal? Silva went sprawling from that shove..
Refs were good in patches. How could Foy give a yellow card for that perfect tackle by Rodwell? They might as well ban tackling then..

Overall good win, but the 3-5-2 formation is still not fluid as hoped. We are still leaking goals..

Must do better. We look like a pub team could score against us at the moment. Luckily the opposition hasn't been up to much so far.
Some of our players passing is an embarrassment. Kolorov is a total liability. Again best placed to defend against zamora, just let him go and head into an empty net. Most of our problems are our own making (poor passing, losing possession, general sloppiness). Bobbys substitutions are as bizarre as ever. Kolo toure puts us under so much needless pressure it's unreal.

I doubt we will see a worse post on this thread....

Need to be more clinical in front of goal.
Just like last season,we could and should have had this game wrapped up,its gonna end up costing us,and as for the cnut foy hope to fcuk he's not back rest of the season, their goal came about from a blatant foul on silva i think a disgrace, trying to be the big man in the picture...

what is so wrong with it? Kolo Toure constantly has ants in his pants, doesn't have a clue what he's doing thse days, hence a liability

Is Tevez accepted again now?
Glad to see some Dzeko appreciation today too despite the commentary team slagging him and his occasional touch being spastic. How many important goals does he need to score and how many times replicate that beautiful anticipation for his goal before people realise what a gem he is for City.

Actually I thought Silva was better than OK and Rodwell showed some signs he is a better player than NDJ will ever be.

Please play Clichy though and we will get better.

By the way, QPR will finish top half, maybe top 7 or 8.

Jeez. Reading this you would think we not only lost but were demolished. The hell is wrong with some of you?

Good win. Too complacent at times, but good win. Now I'm going out to drink and screw.

This, with out the screw bit (married for 15years)

City are starting to remined me of Arsenal back in the day when they won the league, over complicating things, over passing when someone just needs to put there foot through the ball(attack and defence)

At the end of the day this game should of been won in the 1st half.
