If I didn't know better, I'd say this looks like a meaningless but very lucrative friendly.

Not too sure about the lucrative part, but the rest is correct.
In the long term, hopefully. Cementing relationships and all that.

Obviously we put out a team to do a job. Obviously we've fallen....a bit short and obviously that's something we need to address.

LOL! I swear, I thought that was a Hughes quote. Its sounded just like something he would say :)

You've have to remeber that it's the most talented footballers that the whole of the United Arab Emirates against 3-4 decent Premier League players and a bunch of kids from Manchester.

I'm not at all bothered about the result, just hope that the Sheik's happy whatever the outcome! Lol
It's not the UAE first team.

LOL!

Have we even had a shot on target?

Hughes, get those excuses ready.

Its a reserve team yes but the politics of this game being the Sheiks 1st City game and a live stream across the world...is really bad if we come away with a loss. We look really, really bad.

It's really not the end of the world mate...

I take my City games too personal :) but my heart bleeds blue. What can I do? lo.

Remember when Benjani was the best striker on our books? Jesus Christ, those were desperate times!

everyone is saying that we should be flogging a team so low down in the FIFA rankings... but remmeber - the rankings are crap and meaningless, plus this is basically a new side for the UAE, not their ususal crap side - this is their next generation

They are putting up a good fight, credit to them. The poor quality is coming from our side.
No build up play, back passes galore. Lack of attempts on goal.

We're not on about the UAE, they're playing as well as they can I guess. Its just that we didn't expect City to be this bad.

i am going to put our poor perfromance down a certain extent to UAE's pressure defence. hence why city are passing back into our own half so much. the pressure defence is stopping city having any time on the ball and hence no creative outlets. its also giving the UAE a chance to effectively counter attack when they win the ball - which they have been doing (credit to them). very similar tactic the USA used successfully in the confederations cup, and to a certain extent - us againt barca earlier in the season
