As a Watford fan there today, i hated the United chants. Granted, it was for banter etc.. but, really?

We never sing, other than "Yellow Army" and "Deeney, Deeney.." purely 'cos anymore than 2 words and things get confusing for some. Proud of the numbers we took today/yesterday however! If we stuck the one on one chance we had to i think level it(?) then the atmosphere MAY have picked up.

But oh well, back to taking 200 to away games to the likes of Barnsley! Good luck this season and beat those reds to the title!

Thanks for that Watford Dan, I was talking to your mascot after the match and saying how good it was to see such a great turnout, didn't mention the chants about the quiet neighbours, and he was saying that the welcome he had received at our place was great and how well we had looked after him. Also wished us good luck for the rest of the season as well. Seemed a nice guy. Wished me a safe journey home........... when he had the longer journey really!!

Good luck for your season as well.

Gianfranco Zola is my second favourite manager!! If you look on our tunnel cam thread on the main website I loved the way he high fived all your player escorts and then went back down our line to high five ours as well. Such a gentleman, as we applauded him after he had been over to your fans he applauded us as well. You are lucky, but not quite as lucky as us, we have Roberto Mancini. Loved the way the songs for the two Managers kept over lapping each other!! :-)

I spoke to a few City fans pre match in the pub and all were very welcoming! Had a good feel to the day all round. The fans, players, staff all seemed to get on! Just a shame you couldn't let us have that one goal for a few seconds of celebration ;)
Zola is a top guy, who has also got us playing the ball on the floor a lot more as apposed to the old lump it football we used to play. But at the end of the day, no matter how we played, we was never going to get anything realistically. Even with a large number of players out, you still can still field a team of stars! Good to see a full stadium too... i had heard that the 3rd tier on one side wasnt going to be sold originally?

Hi Watford fan here...had high hopes of a big upset today because believe me we have a good side and i have high hopes of returning here again next season. Dont listen to embarrassed watford fans saying they are appalled by the utd chants. It was to wind you up and by the sounds of things it did. We hate Luton and was a double blow them winning today...if more of your fans had known that you could have hit us back with that.
Ive registerd on here because so many city fans acusing us of being Utd fans. we are Watford fans !!! We were given 6000 tickets and only one ticket allowed per season ticket holder if you had given us more then you would have got more plastic fans.
Have you been at the top of the premiership, so long in the prawn sandwich league (that we crave to be in) that utd chants hurts so much ? ......We see kids walking about in watford in Man Utd shirts and I would put my life on the fact that nearly every Watford fan there today would prefer you to win the league than Man Utd. Dont agree with the chants but your moaning makes you sound like your getting more like them.... Do some of your fans actually believe that chant was because we just couldnt controll ourselves any longer and had to let it out ?
Met a lot City fans before and after the game made us feel very welcome great laugh and very friendly , was disappointing but enjoyed my visit to your city...this is the internet so not to be taken seriously but had to send msg especially after reading about horrified watford fans ..had to put the record straight. Good luck for the rest of the season and hope you beat the red side of the city to the title.

Hi there thanks for the post I hope zola gets you promoted. I heard great things about the pozo family, bright future ahead for watford!! <3

Enjoyed my first trip to the Etihad, very nice stadium & decent atmosphere going.

Not trying to provoke but surprised you were so hurt by any utd chants, although I only heard the odd few and I think that was after some Luton banter on your end or maybe vice versa.

I felt the ref was giving us the rub of the green today, deeney could have gone, looked quite nasty, although thankfully your keeper was alright.

To those of you who say we are crap (team wise) just remember we are at the start of a new era and were missing a few key players today. Whilst we are far from the finished article we are moving upwards and improving each month.

Good luck with the next round onwards.

To be fair, from what Ive seen on their forums, nearly every Watford fan is heavily critical of the few morons who sang the Rag songs so I wont criticize them as a fanbase. And how many millions more did that wanker Pulis spend on his squad yet Watford played the far better football and troubled us far more, congrats on that,

interesting pic btw

oh and yeah they (Watford Utd) chanted Utd ......sad *****

Who the fuck do you support????

Does anyone really think they get that many fans to away games. They were mainly plastic rags on a day out up north. Sad cunts.

Yeah we'd really sing about Luton Town.....(Pleat 1983). The chants didn't "hurt" anyone, though why any fans would lower themselves to chant about united I have no idea, and it didn't do your reputation much good, call it banter if you like, but its just small time.

Don't think anyone said your team were crap, just that you were a good way off being ready for the PL at this time, but I'm sure you'd agree, promotion will bring a big revenue increase, good luck, but you would need quite a lot of new players to cope, and QPR have proved that buying quantity, doesn't work.

I see the OS has been editing their TunnelCam videos, we all know Mancini doesn't do the arm around your shoulder type man management...

Had a look at their forum and most do condemn the halfwits who dont know who they support. One or two clueless cvnts, do try and justify it as banter - but these are the type of sad bastards that do think they actually support utd by wearing a red shirt to watch them on sky.

One does make the following statement:

in general they are widely regarded as the most classless, pathetic set of fans going.

Again, thats never been my understanding. I thought people who follow football have the opposite opinion of our 30k following in the third tier having won nothing for 30 odd years.

I wont try and tar all of them with the same brush, but there were enough who clearly choose watford for opportunities like this, and utd for a bit of association with glory

If looks could kill. Zola must have said something about Mario's ex-girlfriend to provoke such an angry looking response.
Just behind this and saw No row... They had a close discussion more like a fatherly discussion. All hugs and kisses here.
