City's New Kits - 2019/20

Quite like the black kit and the nod to Factory records, The colours are quite minimal really and the yellow/salmon is, er unusual, but I've seen worse and reckon it will sell very well. They both probably will.

But, as @SebastianBlue says, the maroon/navy training gear colours make the purple trim on the home seem an even more peculiar choice on the home kit. Although I don't mind it that much, at least it's predominantly the right Blue, with white shorts...

Big fan of these, the away kit also looks good, and I even like the home kit which everyone hates apparently. Overall I think this is a much better effort than we've gotten out of Nike the last few seasons. I'll definitely be buying one for the first time in a few years.

I wonder if the anniversary kit will have maroon turnovers on the socks which meant they didn’t want to use maroon on the home as well.

The anniversary kit isn’t based on the first ever kit or anything like that. It was based on elements/features put to fans on a poll to create the most ‘classic’ or ‘popular’ of City home shirts.

PICTURES!

Somehow the worst thing about that third kit monstrosity is the lack of trim on the sleeves yet there is on the shorts... Looks incomplete... Ly shit

The home and away kits aren't too bad, although the away kit is a bit fussy around the arms/sleeves. And the training/non playing gear looks okay. But that third kit....

Yes, at least the blue on the home shirt seems the “right” shade now — earlier (poorer quality) photos made it look a bit closer to powder blue than sky (City) blue.

I don’t care for the away or third shirts but was never that put off by them; they are the ones I am perfectly happy with the kit designers to play with to sell shirts. I know a few kids that will be snapping up the third shirt for summer hols.

Still absolutely hate the purple on the home kit, but there’s nothing to be done now, of course, other than showing my displeasure by not buying it.

I just wish we would actually wear the anniversary kit more than once or twice — the argument that the odd design of the home kit doesn’t matter because we have the more traditional anniversary kit only makes sense if we were to actually wear it for many of our games. It doesn’t matter if many blues will be wearing it on the beach or in the stands, the world will predominantly see what the team is wearing on the pitch, which shapes the image (brand) of the club, which will primarily be the sky blue and purple, which just does not look in keeping with “City” for me (in a way that even the awful blue sleeves from Nike a few years ago did not).

Luckily it is likely just for one season, like a few of our abominable offerings of the past (Reebok I am looking at you).

Will consider picking up the anniversary kit for myself and the missus.
