CL Draw | QF: Atletico Madrid | SF: Chelsea/Real Madrid

Because this match should have sold out.(by now) QF of the CL! Yes, it might still sell out? But will City shift 1400, £60 tickets, in 3 day’s, we’ll see? There’s 100’s of tickets left in certain blocks in L3.(see below)

As other people have posted, with matches home and away, European trips, cup finals, travel and hotel expenses, coming thick and fast, tickets at home against Atletico should have been priced taking those factors in consideration.

I accept ticket prices for those in the CL cup scheme are good. And L1 and L2 look like they’ve sold out.(we’ll see on the night)

But when will the people at City accept a full stadium roaring Pep and the team on is better than a few thousand quid more in the bank at the latter stages of the CL?

For many people the £60 ticket price is a price they will not pay. If the highest prices tickets were priced between £45 - £50, the match would have sold out.

It’s not about empty seats.(arf!) It’s about getting every seat filled with City fans supporting the team on a CL, QF, night at the Etihad.

I can’t believe they’re charging £60. Sixty-fucking-quid! It’s only a quarter final. City need to sort their swedes out and get in the real world. I’m in the Cup Scheme and it was £50 for me, hardly a bargain. This game should have been £30-40 across the board.

We’ve got seasonticket money coming out for another two months for home games, plus hopefully two away trips to Madrid coming up, hopefully another home game against a Madrid team, hopefully two trips to Wembley, hopefully a trip to Paris, as well as Leeds Wolves WestHam etc. away from home… as well as massively expensive gas+electric prices going up this month, also coming off the back of the pandemic where a lot of peoples’ money situation has changed… and the robbing bastards charging their own fans £60 for a quarter final.

It’s staggering how detached from reality they are. They prey on fans’ fanaticism. They know fans will sacrifice other things in life to pay for this and they don’t care (this is all clubs, btw, not just City).

Fantastic!

I’ll accept I was wrong. And I’ll admit City got it right. Sorry City!

And if doesn’t sell out?

I won’t say I told you so, and ticket prices in CBL3 and ESL3 were too high. (with 237, £60 tickets still to sell in just over 3 days in block 308 alone)

Don’t forget, Atletico returned 1000’s of tickets which City wouldn’t have factored in when deciding the ticket prices.
You’re not wrong though even if there are no tickets left for tomorrow’s game. Because the prices for tomorrow are a reason why some people aren’t going to Wembley. They can’t justify seasoncard money, CL quarter final money, and Wembley semifinal money [even at the cheapest options for all three] within a few weeks.

This is correct. People have had to make choices.

It also shows City now have a larger national and international following, and a wider appeal, as they can now sell out a CL QF game, even with £60 tickets in parts of the ground. Expecting a mixed crowd tomorrow, locals, tourists, day trippers, and football fans wanting to see a good CL QF match.

One lad in the Wembley thread has said he’s not paid his Council Tax this month to afford this game.

Aside from Utd the PSG game had the best atmosphere this season despite all the tourists.

Not particularly good for the future though. If they’re selling out games at £60, they’ll steadily push the prices up as the demand increases. Our club is slowly becoming one of “them”. I’m not financially impacted by these prices as I don’t have to pay for anyone else, but for people with little ones, they’re becoming or already have been priced out.

Is that why the rags go out of the cups early? So they don't have to charge their fans high prices.

101 tickets left.

Just the outer blocks of CBL3 and ESL3.

185 tickets have sold today, so far.
