CL Quarter Final Draw - Liverpool A Apr 4th - H Apr 10th

That's why I hope we go and do it. This 'City has a dodgy defence and can be got it' narrative has seeped into the basic sports journalism and poor commentary that we are all used to. I would love us to go to the theatre of European nights and just block the fuckers out. Just because we havent had to defend doesnt mean we cant do it, we can. Prove it at Klanfield, and then show them our side of it at home. I may be fantasising the dream scenario here, I know that, but this would be great.

The bollocks about our defence is ridiculous because we've conceded the fewest goals in our division.

Equally, the media's hype about Liverpool's attack is bollocks because we've scored about 20 more goals than them.

After the league match at Anfield, Pep will have seen enough not to concede 4 there this time, and we pretty much always score. Over two legs we'll have too much for them.

Wholly agree

Think we should all meet up outside the Arkle, where the coaches park, 100's of us, and walk to the away end en-masse.

All their fans will be waiting for their bus, bar those Liverpool fans not arsed.

I'd take a 4-3 defeat there now lol

We have the best defensive record in the Prem - 20 conceded to Manure's 23. We operate on the basis that attack is the best form of defence - we don't ever have to do conventional defending for extended periods. We have so much of the ball that no team has put us under constant pressure - we gifted Liverpool their goals. Only Barca, Madrid and Bayern are capable of hitting us with wave after wave of attacks.
I think you underestimate us, Barca is the level we are at, I've seen enough of Bayern and Madrid this season (sad I know, need to get out more), to know we are a level above. Don't be fooled by Madrid's CL win over PSG they were fortunate in the first leg and they have had some abject performances in La Liga. Bayern were also comprehensively outplayed by PSG in Paris in the group stage and an ageing Robben is still probably their most dangerous player but he's nowhere near KDB's class. Beat the dippers which I think we will and we have a great chance

I'm actually confident about this tie. If we have no injuries from now until the end of the season we'll go through imo...maybe all the way to the final too. I think Mendy could be key also, if he gets some game time from now until we play them.
We've delivered this season when it was crunch time and we'll continue to do so.

The media and pundits are so ignorant. It’s like the ‘City always give you a chance’ nonsense. Actually we give away very few chances. De Gea looks so good because he has so many saves to pull off. Actually we’ve kept something like 5 clean sheets in 6 and I can see Ederson getting the golden gloves.

Can you imagine the run in if Mendy and Sane are both fit and available to play!! I don’t think there’s many defenders looking forward to that!!

I can't stand this idea that Liverpool fans keep saying we're the "2 best teams in the country" like we're on a similar level and should be grouped together. We've won a trophy this season and are 18 points ahead of them.
Tbf I think they are the 2nd best team after us but there is obviously a massive gap and not on same level.

Ederson
Walker
Kompany
Otamendi
Mendy/delph
Fernandinho
De Bruyne
B Silva
D Silva
Sane
Aguero

If we could field that side (with either delph or hopefully mendy) we will do the dippers! Any becomes more difficult if we need to play zinchenko or Danilo and sterling never plays well against the candle crew

The lack of perspective I’ve seen in the media for this tie is frightening. This is a side that is 4th in their domestic league should Spurs win their game in hand. 18 Points begins the league leaders having played a game more, and no league title to their name since 1990. Valencia are 13 points behind Barca and yet they’d be a dream tie - why is this different? Liverpool are a big club absolutely, tons of honours in years gone by, but fortunately for us that counts for absolutely Zero in these two matches.

This Liverpool side aren’t one of the best in Europe unless you consider City, United and Spurs all to be even better. They aren’t a scary tie for any of the relevant European giants of today; Barca, Madrid and Bayern, and they certainly aren’t a team to be scared of on the pitch. They’re capable of winning the tie because they’re a good side, but they’re not nearly as good as they’ve become overnight since the draw. They’ll make some noise at Anfield too, but make no mistakes as to why, because that’s what they have to do to stay relevant in Europe, otherwise they’re just another average team with an outside shot of winning should they get a bit of luck along the way.

We are a far better side than this bunch, the league table tells us that without question, so we should be pleased we avoided Barca, Madrid, and Bayern, the 3 genuinely difficult ties in the competition, and hope we turn up to play like we can. If we do, we win, if we don’t, we only have ourselves to blame.

Exactly this....liverpool only won the league game down to some glaring errors made by us. They had to score four goals to have any chance of beating us and then nearly blew it because they reverted to type and go into absolute panick mode and that goes for they so called support as well. A game if you take away those 2 stupid mistakes we would have won 3-2

They will come out the blocks at 100mph looking to get an early goal in the first leg. It will be 2 great games but like you say, over these 2 legs our team will be right up for this and we will show our class

That’s true but they pressured us into those mistakes which most other teams haven’t managed to. Pep will know that and adjust.

United showed how to beat Liverpool.....you have to have a keeper that can accurately blast the ball up the pitch right down the middle. I think we might know someone.

Lol...we definately know someone with that skill set

Never a truer word said. Do you think the City players give a toss that Liverpool won European trophies before they were born? I don't recall everyone going on about Huddersfield saying we took 125 years for four top flight trophies and Huddersfield won 3 on the trot once so we should shit it against them.
