Just seen the weekends game vs Chelsea is at The Etihad - not sure that was a great idea but so be it. I went last night but cant make it at the weekend. Ill definately go to the FA Cup semi though that will depend on getting a ticket.

I honestly haven’t got the time or inclination to go through each of those, and obtain supporting stats. I just think that (regardless how many years you’ve been a supporter) it’s a really poor take to describe us as shite.

If we were a team languishing in the bottom three, and averaging what, a point a game or less, that’s what I might describe as shite.

Thanks, must have missed that news, but good move all round, I wonder if that is why Cushing is "interim" ?

Not sure what the plan was from City's side but it sounds like his plan was to try find a role in the men's game next season. He never ruled out a return to women's one day but in the immediate term he still hasn't realised his ambitions in the men's.

I feel like between now and end of season is a bit of a short space of time to have Steph working with him with a view to handing over. If there's nobody else out there that we want it would be good to try convince Cushing to do one more season with Steph on the staff with a view to her taking over in 18 months time. Doing a good job at City women wouldn't look too bad on his CV and CFG would probably help him find a role at one of their other clubs afterwards anyway. Guess it all depends on how well he does though. If we miss out on top 3 or get knocked out of the cup by united then that will undo a lot of what we achieved last night.

Maybe wishful thinking, but I got the impression he was 'interim' because they've got someone else lined up who's not currently available

Nowhere near winning the title, fucked the CL up, out of the League Cup early and only the FA cup and 4th spot to play for and that is in some doubt, we are 3 points off 9th place

Houghton has absolutely no coaching experience, so hiring her would be foolish. I trust management is
not that crazy. Nothing against her, but she needs to actually coach for years before being qualified to take over any major club

Doesn't the Women's Champions League, like the men's version, prohibit standing at its matches, which might explain the lower crowd on Wednesday night. Or do I have that wrong (entirely possible)?

Glad to read that Steph is part of the coaching team for the rest of the season. I remember even three of four years ago it was rumoured that she'd go on the coaching staff at City after she retired as a player, but there obviously have been and continue to be issues over the timing given her poor husband's health tragedy. Still seems that the original intention remains, however.
