UEFA have just published the breakdown of the CL revenue and we received €83.853m, which is more than the winners received (€80.067m).

The other English clubs received revenue as follows:
Chelsea - €69.174m
Arsenal - €53.423m
Rags - €38.13m. No wonder they need a new Official Mattress & Pillow partner.

Wow. That's pretty fantastic in all fairness. Hopefully we can go one better this year.

Ok. How did we earn more than the winners?

We're down on market pool already - 4th instead of 2nd in the league so we won't beat that figure even if we win it.

if we had won it would we have earned less? :)

No, more. More prize money, and a bigger share of the UK pot.

It's in three parts:
- prize money based on group results and then progress through the KO round
- a chunk of cash based on the position in our league (split 40/30/20/10)
- a chunk of cash split between English teams n the groups or better, split on a straight ratio of matches played (the size of this pot is a little complicated as it depends on the English share of the total pot)
