Classic Rock (Phil Collins lives, run for the hills)

Ok, so here are the results of our 'the perfect classic rock album of all time'.
Sorry @crublue1 mate, the deadline of Friday was for scoring the albums. It does look a good list though :-)

So we had 14 submissions and the breadth of music was really astounding, from metal to swamp rock to prog. From Glitter to Bruce S to Folk rock. It is clear that the term 'Classic Rock' means what it means to the individual and we all have very different interpretations.

Of those that made submissions, five took the time to listen to everything submitted and give their scores on the board.
Thanks to @OB1 @RobMCFC @mancity2012_eamo and @blueparrot a great effort. I know myself how long it took to listen to all the playlists. I must admit to skipping stuff I knew and concentrating on material that was new to me but it was a really good exercise. So based on average score received (and we didn't score ourselves!) here are the results:

1. @OB1 8.00
2. @BlueHammer85 7.80
3. @Saddleworth2 7.75
4.= @roypaulknewmyfather @ted the grass 7.70
6.= @MCFCTrick @Onholiday(somemightsay) 7.60
8. @RobMCFC 7.50
9. @mancity2012_eamo 7.25
10. @xmusampa 7.20
11. @Mancitydoogle 7.00
12. @bennyboy 6.90
13. @blueparrot 6.625
14. @Protein Junkie 6.60

From that you can see how close it was and extra points here and there made a massive difference. So well done to @OB1 who wins our best classic rock album.

Went for a theme instead of results, thought I was too good to go down. I was wrong.

The fun was in the journey not the result :-)

A hairs breadth between everyone and if more had scored it would likely have been a very different result.

Obviously pleased to have to gold medal but have to say that most of the points I awarded were in the 7 - 9 range. Taste of course is a very personal thing but it's great that such range of music can be discussed in a respectful fashion. Also, I have already found some bands to check out that I haven't previously but based on their mentions here.

Speaking of newish bands. This morning tried Presto Ballet, a side project of Metal Church guitarist Kurdt Vanderhoof. Very good in a 70s, Kansas, Styx kind of way.
