Imho this track beats up anything official Yes have done since Fly from Here (except “To the Moment)

Indeed there is. The above is my current favourite of a broad palette that transcends YesO.There’s a few tracks on the album that fall into that category.
Here’s a treat for everyone. Wanted to share it on here. Such a pleasure, from the opening music onwards.
A full Friday Rock Show from early 1979, and fabulous FM quality recording :-)
Amongst all the unlistenable quality am/medium wave daytime shows, and the new wave stuff, and the (very) variable John Peel stuff, this show was a proper oasis.
I think it may have been a full 2 hours show of Yes at Empire Pool Wembley (?), which to this day remains my favourite ever live recording of any Yes gig, official or bootleg :-)Good find I will ever forgot listening to the very first Friday Rock show circa 78?
My guilty pleasure is Goth/Symphonic metal.
Lacuna Coil release new album “Sleepless Empire” in February and a new single as below
We saw the same/similar set list. I watched him in Bristol. Second half was simply epic, as was Shadow of the Heirophant at the end of the first.Went to see Steve Hackett last night. Really first class show once again. He is the once and has been for the last few decades, who keep the spirit of Genesis alive and well. I wonder if any of the band members ever go to see his shows.
Played about an hour of his solo stuff including the ever sublime Everyday, and some new tracks, the opening couple of which were refreshingly different and enjoyable.
After the break songs from The Lamb mostly, followed by some from Selling and the inevitable Los Endos finale. His rendition of Cinema Show brought tears to my eyes and his version of Fly on a Windshield was the greatest I think I’ve ever heard. Moonlight Knight was the other ‘best of the best’ moment.
It did make me realise what a great record The Lamb was - I think he played 9 or so superb tracks from it, but that didn’t even include Back in NYC, Riding the Rapids or In The bloody Cage.
The only critical point I’d make is the overuse of the wind instruments. I know Gabriel played flute on some tracks, but this was overdone here on too many tracks so it ended up obscuring the keyboard sounds which were so integral to the Genesis sound, esp back then. Unnecessary spoiling imho, esp when so high in the mix.
Anyway, fabulous evening, and as long as he keeps touring, I’ll keep going :-)
Brilliant stuff pal.We saw the same/similar set list. I watched him in Bristol. Second half was simply epic, as was Shadow of the Heirophant at the end of the first.
Cinema show and Moonlit Knight were staggeringly good.
Hoping for a Trick of the Tail tour soon. I never knew until recently but the Hackett sound is the Genesis sound as far as I’m concerned.
Forgot to say it was a three generation trip. Took my dad who got me into Genesis, and my lad (at uni), who loves them.Brilliant stuff pal.
I’d also certainly be up for Trick or even a Trick/W&W show too :-)
A son with tasteForgot to say it was a three generation trip. Took my dad who got me into Genesis, and my lad (at uni), who loves them.
My lad’s most played track last year on Spotify was ‘dancing with the moonlit knight’. He nearly jumped out of his chair when Steve said he was playing it!

1980 Genesis Friday Show Special In Concert, 2 hours
I’m always on the look out for decent tribute bands and I haven’t heard of them, so I’ll add them to the list, ta!Love that gig.
I went to see a version of it at Liverpool Philharmonic's basement , a couple of weeks before the Covid lockdown, by a tribute act called Visible Touch. They are very good.
The bit which "bridges" Volcano to Los Endos (not on Seconds Out) is sensational
